The Licensing and Compliance Specialist is responsible for overseeing all aspects of business and specialty licensing compliance across multiple states and jurisdictions. This includes acquiring, renewing, and maintaining all business licenses and permits required for operations, managing pest control technician licensing and certifications to ensure full regulatory compliance, and serving as a liaison between internal departments and regulatory agencies. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and experienced in handling multi-state licensing in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities: Business License Management • Track, prepare, submit, and renew business licenses and registrations in all applicable cities, counties, and states., • Maintain a centralized licensing calendar to ensure timely renewals and avoid service disruptions., • Manage and monitor pest control and fertilizer technician licensing across all operational states., • Coordinate training, continuing education, and exam scheduling to meet state-specific licensing requirements., • Monitor federal, state, and local compliance updates relevant to licensing and operational regulations., • Respond to regulatory notices and manage corrective actions., • Maintain accurate records of all licenses and compliance statuses using designated software systems., • Generate reports for leadership on license status, expirations, and compliance risks., • Partner with HR, Operations, and Field Management teams to keep licenses and certifications current., • Prepare and maintain audit-ready documentation for internal and external reviews., • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Environmental Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience., • 3+ years in regulatory licensing or compliance, preferably in a multi-state field service industry., • Familiarity with pest control, pesticide, and fertilizer licensing is strongly preferred., • Strong understanding of local and state-level business licensing processes., • Proficient in licensing/compliance tracking software (e.g., LicenseHQ, Certemy, Smartsheet, etc.)., • Excellent organizational and deadline management skills., • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
