We safeguard the integrity of investment data, ensure compliance with regulatory and audit requirements, and deliver insights that shape strategic portfolio and business decisions. What Can You Expect? We are seeking an experienced Investment Accounting & Reporting Director to join our global IAA function in Barcelona. In this senior expert role, you will oversee the delivery of high‑quality investment accounting and reporting services, ensuring compliance with IFRS and relevant internal and external policies, and drive operational excellence, automation, and standardisation across processes. Below is an outline of what your day‑to‑day responsibilities could look like: • Drive engagement, motivation, and accountability across the team., • Serve as the senior escalation point for complex accounting, valuation, system, and reporting issues, performing expert‑level review, identifying root causes, and driving effective corrective actions., • Provide authoritative interpretation of IFRS and applicable internal/external reporting standards for new transactions, products, strategies, process changes, and system enhancements., • Ensure complete and accurate investment subledger processing, including reconciliations, chart‑of‑accounts maintenance, valuation logic, reporting principles, and service‑level adherence., • Oversee the timely and accurate delivery of monthly, quarterly, and annual investment accounting results in compliance with IFRS and other relevant regulatory frameworks., • Own and continuously strengthen the investment accounting governance and internal control framework, including policy adherence, risk mitigation, and audit readiness., • Represent the function with internal and external auditors, ensuring consistent, accurate, and well‑controlled reporting., • Build strong, productive relationships with senior leaders across Investment Management, Finance, Operations, Risk, and Group functions., • Influence decisions by providing expert insights and recommendations on investment‑related accounting impacts for new products, transactions, investment strategies, and system changes., • Champion simplification, standardisation, automation, and continuous improvement across investment accounting and reporting processes to enhance operational excellence and scalability., • Support the development and enhancement of tools, workflows, and reporting solutions using technologies such as Python, AI agents, Power BI, and Power Automate., • Act as a promoter, ambassador, power user, trainer, or process/product owner within relevant communities, chapters, or squads., • Ensure high‑quality reporting outputs for internal leadership, Group reporting teams, regulators, and auditors., • Work alongside experts in various technological domains., • Enhance your skills with real‑world experience., • Bachelor’s Degree and 7+ years of experience in investment accounting or finance area., • OR, • Advanced Technician Diploma (FP or equivalent) and 10+ years of experience in investment accounting or finance., • AND, • Extensive technical expertise in applying IFRS principles to investment accounting. Required Skills, • Advanced knowledge of investment instruments, including fixed income, structured products, private debt, and alternative assets., • Advanced data analytics expertise, with a proven ability to identify patterns, monitor trends, and translate complex data into actionable insights. Skilled in using tools such as Excel and business intelligence platforms (e.G., Power BI, Tableau)., • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build effective cross‑functional relationships., • Advanced influencing and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to align cross‑functional teams and support decision‑making across Finance, Investment Management, and Operations., • Proactive, solutions‑oriented mindset, with the ability to anticipate issues, identify opportunities, recommend improvements, and drive operational efficiency., • Ability to lead and operate independently while balancing multiple strategic priorities in a fast‑paced environment., • Demonstrated expertise in driving transformation, automation, and operational excellence initiatives within investment accounting and reporting functions., • Excellent problem‑solving and decision‑making capabilities, with the ability to provide insights that shape strategic direction., • Strong motivation to stay current with emerging technologies, including the practical application of AI features, to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
