We are looking for a Database Administrator (DBA) to join our Mobile Solutions team. You will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, performance, and compliance of our PostgreSQL databases as our applications scale. This role involves optimizing high-traffic environments, maintaining operational stability, and supporting audit and compliance requirements to guarantee secure, efficient, and future-proof database systems. This position reports directly to the Solutions Engineering Manager, based in Madrid in a Hybrid work model. Key Job Responsibilities • Design, implement, and maintain high-performance PostgreSQL databases., • Optimize queries, indexing, partitioning, and caching strategies for scalability., • Monitor database health, performance, and availability; proactively address issues., • Manage backup, restore, replication, clustering, and disaster recovery procedures., • Collaborate with development teams to review schemas, queries, and migrations., • Ensure database security controls, access management, and data integrity., • Provide evidence for internal and external audits, ensuring compliance., • Establish database policies, procedures, and best practices., • Stay current with PostgreSQL advancements and recommend improvements., • Attend on-duty shifts to provide support during urgent events. What we expect from you • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)., • Minimum 5 years of proven experience as a PostgreSQL DBA., • Strong expertise in performance tuning, query optimization, and database architecture for high-traffic systems., • Hands-on experience with replication, clustering, partitioning, and HA/DR solutions., • Proficiency with monitoring and troubleshooting tools (e.g., pg_stat_statements, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK)., • Solid knowledge of database security, compliance, and access control management., • Familiarity with audit and compliance frameworks (SOC 2, ISO 27001, GDPR)., • Experience with cloud-hosted PostgreSQL (AWS RDS, GCP Cloud SQL, Azure) is a plus., • Strong scripting/automation skills (Bash, Python)., • Advanced certifications in PostgreSQL or cloud platforms are highly valued., • Excellent problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills., • Advanced level of English (spoken and written).
