Murray Recruitment are recruiting a Quantity Surveyor for our client based in Lanarkshire. Role Overview This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially focused and detail-driven Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established business within the fit-out and construction sector. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the financial management of projects from inception to completion, ensuring best value, cost control, and effective contractual administration across a range of dynamic and varied works. Key Responsibilities • Manage all costs relating to construction and fit-out projects, from initial estimates through to final accounts., • Prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities., • Conduct cost analysis and value engineering to achieve cost efficiencies., • Monitor project progress and keep track of any variations that may affect costs., • Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and forecasting., • Prepare and present interim valuations, final accounts, and project cost reports., • Assess subcontractor applications and process payments in line with contractual terms., • Assist in the procurement of subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring competitive and compliant pricing., • Support the project delivery team in maintaining cost control throughout the life cycle of each project. Skills & Experience • Proven experience in a Quantity Surveyor role within the construction, fit-out, or refurbishment sectors., • Strong understanding of construction contracts, tendering procedures, and cost management principles., • Excellent numerical and analytical skills with attention to detail., • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications., • Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel and quantity surveying software (e.g. ConQuest, Causeway, or similar)., • Effective communicator with strong negotiation and interpersonal skills., • Capable of working independently and as part of a collaborative team., • HNC/HND or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related discipline is preferred.
