SEND Tutor – Barnsley (Home-Based, Part-Time) Are you an experienced SEND professional looking for a rewarding, flexible role where you can make a real difference? We are a specialist education recruitment agency working closely with local authorities and SEND provisions to match the right educators with meaningful opportunities. We are currently seeking a SEND Tutor to support a child in the Barnsley area through personalised, 1:1 home-based learning. Role Details Location: Barnsley (exact location TBC – sessions held in the child’s home) Hours: 1 hour per day, Monday–Friday (5 hours per week) Pay: £25-£35 per hour (dependent on experience) About the Role This is a highly rewarding opportunity to provide tailored support to a child in Year 3 who is currently working at a Pre-Key Stage 1 level. The child has a diagnosis of Autism and presents with significant developmental delays. They are currently non-verbal but are beginning to explore alternative forms of communication. The role will focus on building communication, engagement, and interaction skills in a safe and supportive environment. You will: • Deliver personalised 1:1 sessions within the home • Support early communication and interaction development • Encourage engagement in structured, adult-led activities • Adapt learning approaches to meet complex SEND needs • Support with personal care and ensure the child’s safety What We’re Looking For • Experience supporting children with Autism and complex SEND needs • Strong understanding of Pre-Key Stage 1 development and learning • A patient, nurturing, and flexible approach • Confidence working independently in a home setting Why This Role?
