Application Deadline: 12 December 2025 Department: Operations Location: Darton Compensation: £14,250 / year Description We’re looking for a proactive and highly organised Allocator to join our operations team. In this key role, you’ll help keep our workflow running smoothly by coordinating job allocation, supporting production scheduling, and providing vital administrative support across the department. This role is essential to the smooth running of our operational sales front end. You’ll be responsible for ensuring all jobs are accurately allocated and released into production within the required lead times, while resolving any queries quickly and effectively. You’ll also support a range of operational administrative tasks, working closely with both suppliers and internal teams to keep everything moving efficiently. This role is part time 21 hours a week working Wednesday and Thursday 8am-16:30pm and Friday 8am-1pm Key Responsibilities • Raising purchase orders for all consumables and materials, • Receiving and closing purchase orders for consumables and materials, • Allocating jobs for straight pull, guillotining, waterjet (WJ), and routing, including nested work, • Creating transfer orders, • Creating and extending material master data, • Resolving SAP errors and supporting operators with confirmation issues, • Monitoring and actioning Gogi requirements, • Managing buy-back sales, • Coordinating all aspects of export sales (packaging, transport, documentation, etc.), • Providing general operational administrative support, • Entering customer sales orders into SAP during periods of absence Skills, Knowledge & Expertise Please still apply even if you do not have all of the below criteria as we are happy to provide training. • Proven experience in a busy administrative or coordination role, • SAP (or similar ERP) experience, including order entry, data maintenance, and resolving system issues, • Confident in managing purchase orders, from raising through to receipting, • Experience handling multiple tasks such as scheduling, data entry, and documentation with high accuracy, • Comfortable working with material or product data and maintaining records to a high standard, • Experience communicating professionally with suppliers, customers, and internal teams, • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage deadlines, • Experience supporting operational teams with admin tasks and process follow-up, • Familiarity with logistics or export administration is advantageous but not essential, • Competent in identifying discrepancies, resolving queries, and ensuring smooth workflow processes Job Benefits • Annual Leave: 25 days holiday + 8 bank holidays (pro rata), • Health Cash Plan (after 6 months), • Company bonus scheme, • Advantageous pension scheme, • Learning & Development opportunities, • Advanced Family Friendly Policies, • Employee high street vouchers & discounts, • Employee Assistance Programme, • Occupational health & health surveillance, • Length of Service Awards, • Christmas savings scheme, • Eye care vouchers, • Cycle to Work Scheme, • Wellbeing events, • Recognition Portal, • Rewards Portal, • Company events, • Company share schemes Our company values are the fundamental principles that guide our organization’s actions, culture, and decision-making processes.
