One-to-One Teaching Assistant (Year 8) Location: Durham Start Date: 14 September 2026 Contract: Full-Time (Initial one-term contract with strong potential for extension) Salary: Competitive (Based on experience) The Opportunity Our client school, a small independent school in County Durham, are looking for a somebody to work one-to-one with a student in Year 8. The student has an EHCP and needs support from an adult. He is has a well natured, intelligent student who needs a calm supportive and caring adult by his side. The role is term time only (36 weeks per year) and is 5.5 hours per day. What We’re Looking For "We want someone who brings energy to the classroom and has a genuine 'can-do' attitude toward child development." • Experience: Previous experience working within a school setting - Secondary school is desirable, • Qualifications: A relevant Level 2 or 3 TA qualification (or equivalent)., • Skills: Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport quickly with both children and staff., • Mindset: Patient, proactive, and resilient. You should be someone who can spot a child struggling and step in before they even have to ask.
