You'll act as the technical authority across installation, commissioning, service, and design functions, helping to drive quality, compliance, and innovation as the business continues to scale.\n\nThe Company\n\nOur client is a specialist provider of renewable energy solutions, delivering:\n\nAir source heat pump systems\nRenewable heating technologies\nSolar and energy-efficient solutions\nDesign, installation, commissioning, and maintenance servicesWorking across residential and light commercial sectors, the company has built a strong reputation for technical expertise, quality installations, and outstanding customer support.\n\nWith significant growth forecast over the coming years, they are investing in their technical leadership team to ensure standards remain best-in-class.\n\nThe Role\n\nAs Technical Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all technical aspects of the business, ensuring systems are designed, installed, commissioned, and maintained to the highest standards.\n\nYou will work closely with installation teams, service engineers, manufacturers, and senior management, acting as the go-to technical expert across the organisation.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nTechnical Leadership\n\nAct as the company's lead technical authority on renewable heating and energy systems\nProvide technical guidance across design, installation, commissioning, and service departments\nDevelop and maintain technical standards, procedures, and best practices\nSupport continuous improvement initiatives across the business\n\nInstallation & Commissioning Support\n\nProvide technical support on complex installation projects\nAssist with commissioning strategies and troubleshooting\nEnsure systems are installed in accordance with manufacturer requirements and industry standards\nSupport resolution of technical issues and escalations\n\nProduct & Manufacturer Management\n\nMaintain relationships with key manufacturers and suppliers\nStay current with emerging technologies and industry developments\nSupport product selection and specification processes\nEvaluate new technologies and opportunities for business growth\n\nTraining & Development\n\nDeliver technical training and mentoring to engineers and installers\nDevelop competency frameworks and technical development programmes\nSupport apprentice and engineer development pathways\nEnsure ongoing compliance with accreditation requirements\n\nCompliance & Quality\n\nEnsure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and certification schemes\nOversee technical audits and quality assurance processes\nSupport MCS, PAS 2035, and other industry accreditation requirements\nDrive high standards of workmanship and customer satisfaction\n\nCustomer & Project Support\n\nSupport clients, developers, consultants, and contractors with technical advice\nAssist with complex project requirements and design reviews\nAct as a senior escalation point for technical enquiries\n\nThe Candidate\n\nWe are looking for an experienced technical professional with a strong background in renewable heating, HVAC, or building services engineering.\n\nEssential:\n\nExperience with MCS and PAS 2035 frameworks\nBuilding Services, Mechanical Engineering, or Energy-related qualification\nExperience delivering technical training\nKnowledge of solar PV, battery storage, or wider renewable technologies\n\nThe Package\n\nSalary £50,000 - £60,000 DOE\nCompany vehicle or car allowance\nPension scheme\nOngoing technical and leadership development\nOpportunity to influence technical strategy within a growing business\n\nCareer Progression\n\nThis role offers genuine long-term progression within a business experiencing rapid growth.\n\nFor the right individual, there is potential to progress into:\n\nHead of Technical\nTechnical Director\nOperations Directorwhile helping shape the future direction of a business operating in one of the UK's fastest-growing sectors.\n\nWhy Apply?\n\nThis is a rare opportunity to take ownership of the technical function within a growing renewable energy business, helping drive quality, innovation, and engineering excellence while contributing directly to the UK's decarbonisation journey.\n\nWR HVAC | M&E are #1 recruitment partner for HVAC jobs.
