Project Controls Manager – Nuclear Project Location: United Kingdom Sector: Nuclear / Major Infrastructure About the Role: We are seeking an experienced Project Controls Manager to lead the planning, scheduling, cost control, and reporting functions for a major UK nuclear project. The role is critical in ensuring effective project governance, compliance with UK nuclear regulations, and delivery to time, cost, quality, and safety objectives. Key Responsibilities: • Lead and manage the project controls function, including planning, scheduling, cost management, risk, and reporting., • Develop and maintain the integrated project control framework in alignment with UK nuclear industry standards, NEC contract requirements, and company policies., • Establish and oversee the project baseline (scope, schedule, and cost) and ensure robust change control processes are implemented., • Manage and mentor a team of planners, cost engineers, risk analysts, and reporting specialists., • Produce accurate, timely project performance reports, including earned value analysis (EVA), forecasts, and variance analyses., • Drive the use of project management systems and tools (e.g., Primavera P6, ARM, EcoSys, or equivalent)., • Work closely with project managers, engineers, commercial teams, and stakeholders to ensure alignment on project objectives., • Monitor and challenge contractor schedules, cost forecasts, and risk registers to ensure realism and accountability., • Support regulatory and stakeholder reporting requirements, including submissions to the Office for Nuclear Regulation (ONR) and other relevant bodies., • Promote and embed a culture of nuclear safety, compliance, and assurance across project controls activities. Requirements: • Proven experience in project controls leadership within nuclear, defence, or other highly regulated major infrastructure projects., • Strong knowledge of UK nuclear sector regulations, governance, and assurance frameworks., • Demonstrable experience with Primavera P6 and other project controls systems., • Solid understanding of earned value management (EVM), cost forecasting, and risk management techniques., • Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and develop high-performing teams., • Degree in engineering, project management, or related discipline (or equivalent experience)., • Professional membership/accreditation (APM, PMI, or equivalent) preferred., • Active or eligible for UK security clearance.
