Whether you are at Foundation, Intermediate or Advanced Levels, we'd love to accommodate you with your next career move to join one of our ever-expanding businesses.\nWhat You’ll Get\n Foundation Level Fire Risk Assessor (Formally Tier 1) = up to £33,000 per year\n Intermediate Level Fire Risk Assessor (Tier 2) = £33,001 - £40,000 per year\n Advanced Level Fire Risk Assessor (Tier 3) = £40,001 - £48,000 per year\nNote: The above salary ranges are dependent on experience and qualifications.\n Flexible/hybrid working: a mixture of office and home-based options.\n Pension contributions.\n Private Medical Insurance.\n Life Insurance.\n Employee Assistance Programme.\n 25 days annual leave + bank holidays, with the option to purchase additional days.\n Ongoing training, mentorship and genuine career progression (we also have mentorship days every 4 months, so 3 a year, where our assessors get together to discuss everything fire).\n * You will be put through a 2-6 week mentoring/adjustment period, depending on experience. In this period, you will shadow other assessors, undertake relevant training, complete demo FRAs, and have time to learn the role and read relevant guidance documents. On completion of this period, you will complete live FRAs with a senior supporting you for the duration of your visits on the first two/three FRA batches, until you are ready to complete them on your own.\nWhat You’ll Bring\n Ideally holding recognised industry qualifications: Level 3/4/5 qualification in fire risk assessment (depending on competency level), fire safety–related degree/diploma, HNC/HND.\n Registration with IFE/IFSM and NFRAR, or EngTech is a strong advantage.\n Fire Service or fire safety inspection background, with Fire Service College modules (or equivalent) is a strong advantage.\n Demonstrable experience producing high-quality fire risk assessments across varied commercial and residential premises.\n Strong observational and problem-solving skills. Attention to detail is a must.\n Excellent report writing and analytical skills, and strong IT skills with the ability to use computer software/apps to produce quality work.\n Essential knowledge of social housing fire safety, including Purpose-Built Flats Guidance and Specialised Housing Guidance.\n Where applicable, the ability to work under mentorship and follow structured guidance and feedback.\n * Where applicable, the ability to handle complex fire safety challenges.\nWhat You’ll Do\nConduct comprehensive, high-quality fire risk assessments in the areas of your competency levels for either Foundation, Intermediate and Advanced Levels in line with BS 8674:2025.\nManage your own workload, deadlines, and client communication.\nEvaluate fire safety measures and recommend improvements.\nComplete fire risk assessments within the required deadlines (usually 5-7 working days, depending on the Client).\nStay updated on fire safety regulations, guidance and best practices.\nComplete other work-related tasks delegated by a Senior.\nWhere applicable, work under supervision to gain experience in fire risk assessment, working towards independent/lone working.\nWhere applicable, liaise with clients, enforcement officers, and regulatory bodies to ensure adherence to the fire risk assessment processes.\nWhere agreed and competent to do so for Advanced level assessors, validate fire risk assessments from lower-tier assessors.\nWhere agreed and competent to do so for Advanced level assessors, deliver guidance and mentorship to junior fire risk assessors.\nContribute to a culture of continuous improvement through CPD and mentoring.\nAs an equal opportunities employer, Ranger FS is committed to the equal treatment of all current and prospective employees and does not condone discrimination based on age, disability, sex, sexual orientation, pregnancy and maternity, race or ethnicity, religion or belief, gender identity, or marriage and civil partnership.\nWe aspire to have a diverse and inclusive workplace and strongly encourage suitably qualified applicants from a wide range of backgrounds to apply and join Ranger
