About the Role As our Property and Infrastructure Lead, you'll oversee the strategic and operational management of our entire property portfolio - over one million square feet across the UK. You will define the long-term property strategy, ensure compliance across the estate, and maintain strong relationships with internal and external partners. This is a senior role working closely with Commercial, Infrastructure, Finance, Operations, Aviva Group Property, and local authorities to ensure our sites remain safe, compliant, future-focused, and aligned with our sustainability ambitions. The role and responsibilities As a Bridge Inspector, you will be responsible for delivering a range of inspection and testing services across the UK. You will be doing: ·Carrying out Safety, General, Principal, Special and Assessment Inspections ·Undertaking visual inspections, drone surveys and hands-on structural assessments ·Using specialist techniques such as hammer tap surveys, corrosion testing and defect analysis ·Applying non-destructive testing and structural monitoring methods ·Supporting investigations on reinforced and post-tensioned structures (training provided if required) ·Reviewing technical data against structural capacity assessments ·Producing detailed inspection reports and asset management data You will also be involved in: ·Planning and managing inspection programmes ·Organising traffic management, permits and site access ·Liaising with clients, stakeholders and subcontractors The role will include working at height, in confined spaces, over water and using specialist access equipment such as MEWPs, rope access and pontoons. Must have skills and experience To be successful in this Bridge Inspector role, you will have: ·A recognised qualification in Civil or Structural Engineering (e.g. HNC/HND) ·Experience in bridge inspection and testing ·Experience producing technical reports and site documentation ·Knowledge of CS 450 and Inspection Manual for Highways Structures ·LANTRA BICS certification or willingness to achieve it ·A full, clean UK driving licence Desirable skills It would be beneficial if you have: ·Experience with CS 462 investigations ·Familiarity with software such as SMIS, Agile or Bridge Station ·PTS (rail), IPAF, PASMA or rope access certification ·Confined space training ·CSCS card and First Aid qualification Salary and benefits ·Salary dependent on experience ·Ongoing training and professional development ·Support to gain industry certifications (including BICS) ·Flexible working arrangements ·Regular social events and supportive team environment ·Opportunity to work across the UK and occasionally overseas Additional information You will be working in a highly varied role combining site-based inspections and office-based reporting.
