Job DescriptionWorking in a hybrid style, based at home and City Square in Dundee, you will work full time, 37 hours per week.\n\nIf you have any queries regarding this vacancy, please contact Naomi Clarke on 07999585732 or email will have a degree in relevant discipline (eg sustainability/ climate change, carbon management or similar).\n \nYou will be able to demonstrate continuing professional development in a relevant discipline is essential.ResponsibilitiesAs a senior member of the Sustainability and Climate Change team, this post will support the strategic delivery of the Council’s sustainable development, climate emergency and carbon management commitments, ensuring that the Council is an exemplar in these fields. The post will play a key role in working with partner organisations and external stakeholders to foster inter-agency co-operation and implement initiatives to support the city’s net-zero ambitions.\n \nThe role will also provide strategic leadership in the use of data, applying advanced analytical tools and platforms to strengthen evidence-based decision-making, enhance organisational data maturity, and support robust scenario modelling and planning for the Council’s net-zero transition.\n \nThe post will take a leading role within specific duties, in line with the Council’s, and its partners’, strategic direction, outcomes and priorities and may be on occasion to undertake the roles and responsibility for other areas as required.The IndividualYou will have the significant experience of applying following areas within the context of a large organisation or complex environment and developing and leading sustainability/climate change policy, strategy and targets to achieve outcomes.\n \nYou will be able to demonstrate design, development and implementation of organisational and partnership sustainability/climate change initiatives, production of detailed, cohesive reports, business cases and management information /analysis for distribution to a Senior audience. You will have experience in developing and sustaining effective partnerships at national and/or local level, with public, private and/or community sectors with working knowledge of climate change issues facing Scottish local authorities along with budgetary management experience.\n \nThe ability to proactively and constructively question established policies and practices, to research and analyse complex issues, draw out strategic implications and develop creative and practical solutions. IT skills, including experience of Microsoft packages, strong leadership skills with the ability to encourage ideas, initiatives and innovation in others, to work under pressure with political sensitivity, and diplomatic approach.\n \nYou will have the ability to work outwith office times and travel as required.
