We are an independent and eco-conscious family cafe based in Coulsdon. We serve breakfast and brunch dishes throughout the day, using the best quality ingredients. We are looking for part time and full time chefs to join our team. The right candidate has the chance to learn alongside the head chef, ultimately taking the reins and being able to do services alone. They will have the opportunity and training to allow them to influence and even create menus, including costing and sourcing. The role suits either an experienced chef that wants to influence the menu or a passionate foodie keen to learn. The salary will reflect their experience. The candidate must have loads of energy, be self motivated and able to keep focused and disciplined alone, and be a solid team player. Role Responsibilities: - Manage prep and ensure the kitchen is ready for service to the best of your ability - Keep food hygiene HACCAP checks up to date daily - To ensure that the kitchen is always kept clean and tidy, including managing weekly deep cleaning responsibilities - To ensure that the food orders are placed with suppliers when necessary - To manage stock control and food waste - To work with kitchen management to manage the kitchen spend and ensure food costs are achieved - To contribute to specials and new menu items whenever appropriate including calculating food costing for these dishes

We are looking for an experienced sous chef to work diligently with our existing excellent kitchen team under the guidance of our executive chef. You will need to be passionate, professional and genuinely interested in and committed to helping us, the owners of a well established and popular daytime only vegetarian and vegan cafe/restaurant, literary and antiques space in Camden to deliver and continuously evolve our seasonal food offering to our loyal and many new customers. This is an exciting period of growth and we are looking for the right fit. You will need to be super passionate about food and ingredients, their seasonality, sourcing and provenance, the creation and presentation of dishes as well as be driven by consistency, precision and exacting standards. You will be able to help manage the kitchen operation by working closely with the owners and our current kitchen team and be happy with sharing and the responsibility of running our kitchen. We occupy a truly unique space for London, overlooking a 40 year old award wining social enterprise garden centre and we are continually looking to build on existing high levels of customer experience, quirk and professionalism. We were recently named by The Observer food magazine as the number two venue for breakfast in the UK and we want someone who is excited about building on these credentials. Experience motivated chef who can work alone and cook consistently. Must be hygiene qualified and follow regular hygiene compliance. Must be able to place orders and control stock.
