As part of our continued growth, we are seeking a commercially driven Sales Manager to expand our customer base and play a key role in shaping the future of our sales function. The Role As Sales Manager, you will be responsible for driving revenue growth across both courier and freight-forwarding services, securing new customers while maintaining and developing a portfolio of existing accounts. This is a hands-on, autonomous role suited to a self-starter who is confident generating their own leads and building long-term relationships in a competitive logistics environment. You will be expected to actively identify opportunities with businesses requiring same-day, express, and UK courier services, as well as international freight solutions. While there will be an element of existing account management, the primary focus of the role is new customer acquisition and business expansion. Working within an independent business, you will have the freedom to manage your own activity, supported by an experienced operations team committed to delivering a high standard of service. As the business continues to grow, this role is expected to expand in scope. Key Responsibilities • Generate and convert new business across UK courier services, same-day and express delivery, and international air, sea, and road freight, • Take full ownership of lead generation through prospecting, networking, referrals, and market engagement, • Expand the company’s customer base in line with agreed growth targets, • Manage and develop existing client relationships, identifying opportunities to grow revenue and cross-sell services, • Prepare and present tailored logistics solutions based on customer requirements, • Negotiate pricing and commercial terms while protecting margins and service quality, • Maintain an accurate and structured sales pipeline with clear forecasting, • Work closely with operations and customer service teams to ensure smooth onboarding and service delivery, • Represent the company professionally at client meetings, site visits, and industry events Future Development & Progression This role is expected to grow as Axis Global Freight Services continues to expand its courier and freight customer base. Subject to performance and commercial success, the successful candidate will play a key role in shaping and expanding the sales department. Over time, this may include contributing to sales strategy, mentoring or managing additional sales resource, and supporting wider commercial growth.
