Role Overview The Mechanical Project Manager will oversee the construction design, delivery, installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical systems for data center construction projects across Europe. This role requires the management of all aspects of mechanical system delivery, including HVAC systems, cooling infrastructure, fire suppression systems, and fuel delivery systems. Operating as part of CloudHQ’s Construction Management team, the Mechanical Project Manager ensures the successful execution of mechanical scopes while maintaining safety, schedule adherence, and compliance with industry regulations. The candidate will work closely with contractors, vendors, consultants, and stakeholders to ensure seamless delivery of reliable and scalable mechanical systems for mission-critical facilities. Key Responsibilities Project Oversight for Mechanical Systems • Plan and manage the installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical systems., • Ensure all mechanical systems meet CloudHQ’s technical standards, tenant-specific requirements, and compliance with local codes and sustainability regulations., • Troubleshoot and resolve construction challenges during installation, ensuring mechanical scopes stay aligned with project schedules., • Oversee and monitor project-specific plans for mechanical scopes, including detailed timelines, resource allocation, and cost management., • Coordinate with general contractors to ensure mechanical equipment procurement, delivery, and installation align with construction milestones., • Conduct on-site inspections, monitoring progress and ensuring work adheres to designs, contracts, and applicable building codes., • Facilitate regular project meetings, ensuring risks are identified early and mitigation plans are implemented effectively., • Manage relationships with general contractors, vendors, and suppliers for mechanical systems, ensuring proper execution and adherence to contracts., • Ensure mechanical equipment is delivered on time and meets quality standards specified in the project scope., • Ensure all electrical construction activities fully comply with local building codes, health and safety regulations, and CloudHQ standards for safety and performance., • Enforce strict adherence to contractor safety protocols during both installation and commissioning phases., • Promote a culture of safety on site and work closely with HSE teams to implement and monitor safety practices., • Provide subject matter expertise in mechanical construction design and installation phases., • Oversee factory witness testing and on-site commissioning of critical systems., • Lead value engineering efforts to optimize mechanical system costs while maintaining energy efficiency, performance, and reliability., • Safety & Regulatory Compliance, • Enforce strict compliance with building codes, health and safety standards, and CloudHQ’s corporate protocols for mechanical construction., • Monitor site activities to ensure contractors and subcontractors adhere to environmental sustainability practices and follow fire impairment safety processes., • Provide regular progress updates to senior management and stakeholders, detailing risks, opportunities, and milestones for mechanical system installations during construction phases., • Maintain comprehensive records for project schedules, compliance activities, and metrics related to mechanical scopes. Required Skills & Experience Technical Expertise in Mechanical Systems • Extensive knowledge of design, installation, and testing of mechanical systems for data centers or other mission-critical facilities., • Familiarity with mechanical redundancy principles and energy efficiency strategies for scalable infrastructure., • Construction Management Knowledge, • Proven experience managing large-scale mechanical scopes during the construction phase of data centers or similar industrial facilities., • Familiarity with building codes, permitting systems, and sustainability regulations governing mechanical systems for critical infrastructure projects., • Ability to independently manage complex construction schedules and risk strategies while delivering mechanical systems on time and within scope., • Strong ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, including contractors, suppliers, and CloudHQ stakeholders, during construction execution., • Effective communicator capable of providing actionable insights and recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences. Education: Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or Building Services Engineering. Experience: Minimum 5 years’ experience in construction management roles focusing on mechanical systems for data centers, industrial facilities, or other large-scale projects.Experience in commissioning processes for mechanical systems in high-tech or mission-critical environments. The Opportunity The Mechanical Project Manager will be responsible for the successful delivery of cleanroom and laboratory projects from concept through to commissioning and handover. This role focuses on managing the mechanical services associated with controlled environments, Mechanical Project Manager ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in compliance with all relevant industry standards and client requirements. What You’ll Be Doing • Overseeing all stages of the project lifecycle, including conception, design, development, and implementation, • Managing and coordinating project teams, including engineers, designers, technicians, and subcontractors, • Use design, procure, construct and commission (DPC&C) programmes in Microsoft Project, • Responsible for full mechanical cost control, including budgeting, estimating, package procurement, subcontract account management, and agreement of final accounts to meet project targets, • Chairing weekly subcontractor progress meetings and keeping accurate meeting minutes, • Ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget, • Identifying project risks, implementing mitigation strategies, and resolving issues or delays, • Managing project resources and materials to support successful delivery, • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients, contractors, and key stakeholders, • Ensuring compliance with health & safety requirements and relevant industry standards, • Completing tender reviews and comparison reports to document the equalisation of compliant tender returns, • Producing building services quality plans (ITPs), including detailed commissioning plans and schedules What You Will Need • At least 5 years of relevant project management experience within the construction or engineering industry, • Strong technical knowledge of building services and HVAC systems, • Sound industry knowledge and understanding of best practice, • Experience managing projects through the full lifecycle, from pre-construction through to delivery, • Understanding of cleanroom standards and regulatory requirements (beneficial), • Knowledge of GMP environments and validation processes (beneficial), • Experience delivering multiple projects concurrently (beneficial), • Experience working on fast-track or live operational sites, • Excellent organisational, communication, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to track and file information efficiently and effectively., • Able to achieve results in a client-focused, collaborative manner, • Ambitious and capable, with a professional and articulate manner and a strong drive to deliver results., • Able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines Qualifications • Site Management Safety Training Certification (SMSTS) (Mandatory), • Construction Skills Certification (CSCS) (Mandatory), • Engineering degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services (Desirable) Why Join T-SQUARED?
