Construction / Project Manager – Mechanical Engineering\nNorth Yorkshire\n12 Month Fixed Term Contract | Site Based\nUp to £75,000\n\nPrincipal People are pleased to be supporting a specialist consultancy with the recruitment of a Construction / Project Manager to support a major engineering and infrastructure project based within a live operational power generation environment in North Yorkshire.\n\nThis is an excellent opportunity to join a high-profile engineering project involving complex mechanical, construction, and process engineering works including installation of process equipment, silos, conveyors, M&E systems, and structural steel works within an existing operational facility.\n\nThe successful Construction / Project Manager will take ownership of day-to-day site coordination and construction activities, working closely with contractors, engineering teams, operational stakeholders, and client representatives to ensure safe and efficient delivery across the project.\n\nThis role would suit an experienced construction or project professional with a strong mechanical engineering background who is comfortable operating within heavy industrial, process engineering, energy, or other high hazard operational environments.\n\nWhy could this be the role for you?\n\nOpportunity to support a technically complex and high profile engineering project\nLong term fixed term contract within a live operational environment\nOperationally focused role with significant site visibility and responsibility\nComplex mechanical and engineering installation works across a large scale facility\nOpportunity to work closely with senior operational, engineering, and project teams\n\nThe successful Construction / Project Manager will be responsible for:\n\nManaging day to day construction and engineering activities across site\nCoordinating contractors and monitoring progress across multiple workstreams\nSupporting safe delivery of mechanical, construction, and engineering activities\nReviewing RAMS, permits, and site activities within a live operational environment\nManaging programme coordination, sequencing, and short term planning activities\nWorking closely with engineering, operational, commercial, and Health and Safety teams\nResolving site issues and maintaining project momentum across the programme\n\nThe ideal Construction / Project Manager will have:\n\nMechanical Engineering background or similar.\nExperience within industrial, engineering, infrastructure, utilities, or heavy construction projects\nCSCS, Safety Passport or equivalent site certification\nDegree, HNC, or HND within Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline\n\nThis is a full time resident role based on site in North Yorkshire, typically 4-5 days per week
