Principal Accountabilities · Drive an Integrated Planning framework, integrated with Reporting and Interdependencies focused on alignment of top down/bottom-up reporting from strategic levels, through Level 1 to Level 5. · Develop and maintain the schedule baseline integrated work schedule (IWS) with fully logic-linked work plans aligned to the Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and utilising effective techniques. · Supporting the Area management organisation to ensure that significant risks/opportunities associated with the MEH scope of works are adequately assessed based on evidence and balanced judgement to underpin regular, timely and accurate information. · Enable robust review, challenge of delivery & schedule level reporting that impacts overall Project level strategic delivery. · For the timely production and focussed updates of area Planning and Schedule reporting to key stakeholders, to a defined reporting cycle · Driving and challenging strategies for Baseline Schedule project delivery sequence · Continuous development of the Planning team approach by capturing and sharing operational experience and learning. · Analysing and assimilating information to identify key risks and make evidence-based decisions to drive the Planning strategy using a pragmatic and systematic approach. · Ability to effectively collaborate with colleagues within and across organisational boundaries to achieve mutually successful outcomes · Accountable for the application of the Trend & Change process within the schedule, including analysis at Project level, generating performance indicators, and providing feedback on areas of risk and opportunities. · Integration of the MEH scope of works · Accountable for ensuring the project scheduling standards and procedures are being adhered to. · Ensure all Project documents are correctly protectively marked, and protected in accordance with EDF policies and procedures. Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience Knowledge & Skills · Demonstrable ability to deliver accurate and concise project insights to drive evidence-based decision making, utilising commercial and technical information, to influence project decisions and lead the management of area planning. · Critical understanding of how the impact of changes/decisions may impact the risk profile of the project and Planning delivery. · Excellent analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills. · Effectively communicates complex issues and concepts (unique insights) in simple ways, to both technical and non-technical senior audiences. · Ability to effectively collaborate with colleagues within and across organisational boundaries to achieve mutually successful outcomes. · Control / Clear Understanding of the HPC PMO Digital Planning Platforms and functionality ‒ Detailed understanding of scheduling methodologies and techniques. ‒ Technical and practical comprehension of EPC methods and techniques in a UK context. ‒ Ability to produce accurate, complete and fully logic-linked construction plans. ‒ Understanding of other Disciplines of Project Controls (particularly Estimating, Cost and Risk) including management techniques and associated software. ‒ Understanding of earned value analysis. ‒ Understanding of various contract types, in particular the NEC suite and FIDIC. ‒ Working knowledge of schedule risk analysis techniques. Qualifications & Experience · Minimum of a degree or equivalent in Engineering, Construction, Quantity Surveying or other related field; · Demonstratable experience working within a Planning team for mechanical, electrical & HVAC works in a complex, highly regulated industry (ideally nuclear or energy) working in a role, which requires active integration management with multiple stakeholders. · Experience of practical application of Integrated Planning frameworks and methodologies, and how they are applied in the strategic and operational management of a major infrastructure project to deliver positive business outcomes. · Expert in Planning and Project Controls technology solutions with experience of managing the implementation and effective delivery of complex projects using these software solutions. · Proven experience of planning Mechanical, Electrical & HVAC works within highly regulated industries and complex projects. Role: Project Manager - Electrical Position: Contract Location: Hinkley Point C, Somerset Duration: 12 Months Rolling Rate: Circa £400 p/d PAYE + 36 days annual leave // Circa £540 p/d Umbrella Job Purpose / Overview The Project Manager has the responsibility to ensure delivery of all (or part of) the engineering, procurement, manufacturing, construction, and commissioning activities for the life cycle of the contract or work package in accordance with the overall Project schedule. The PM will ensure planning and delivery is in accordance with all safety, quality, time, and cost parameters to meet the needs of the Project. The PM will report directly to the Head of Site Operations and is responsible for the direction of activities associated with the full life cycle delivery of a contract or work package assigned to them. Principal Accountabilities Assist in securing the required resources to meet their project requirements, ensuring the maintenance of SQEP for any assigned resource and promptly identifying any personnel shortfalls or issues within their project team Assist the development and implementation of strategies and plans in line with the overall programme execution plan (PEP), setting out how the programme of work will be managed, organised, and executed. Maintain effective communications with all stakeholders and executing the project or PEP strategies within their contract or package of work Assist with delivery of the contract or package activities to ensure they are delivered safely on time, to budget, meeting business & technical requirements. Monitor and manage the progress of the programme - track progress against milestones, deadlines, budget and provide key stakeholders with reports on these matters Anticipate, manage, and resolve issues within the contact or package. Identify risks and facilitate the resolution of all issues raised, develop, and update the programme budget, and escalate any issues as required Work with the construction team to ensure schedules are developed and maintained for the contract or package of work. Ensure such schedules are consistent with overall Project schedules and escalate any discrepancies Ensure that lessons-learnt and knowledge-capture are practiced as business as usual. Interface with other programmes to ensure a high-level view of how the total project is progressing and to identify and adopt the use of best practice * Ensure that contract or package contractual requirements are fulfilled and escalate where necessary. Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Leadership and its application in complex projects. Working knowledge of CDM Regulations. Proficient numeracy, analytical and critical reasoning skills. Proficient application of estimating, scheduling, programming, risk. Excellent presentation, influencing and facilitation skills. Understanding the needs of nuclear quality and how nuclear quality is assured and controlled. A Degree or similar qualification in a related subject, construction or related field is desirable but not essential. Professional Qualification in Project Management such as APM PPQ or other recognised qualification is desirable but not essential. Demonstrated project management experience in: - Engineering design, contract, and field execution strategies for project delivery. - Multi-discipline EPCM Projects. - Working knowledge and management experience of construction activities. - Procurement and management of complex contracts. - Control of costs, risk, schedule, and change. - Management of commercial claims and associated negotiation experience. Successful experience in engaging multi-level stakeholders including contractors, consultants, and advisors in a regulated environment. * Experience operating within NEC and FIDIC commercial arrangements. They are required to project a security presence which is both commanding and authoritative whilst remaining calm and professional at all times. Security Officers fulfil various roles as tasked by their Supervisors and as such are high profile enablers to the site and a key representative of the security provider and the Hinkley Point C Project. Part of the Security duties include being trained to use the Delivery Management System and liaising with vehicle drivers arriving on the main construction site and checking all details are correct and vehicles are released to and from the site in accordance with our DCO obligations. All duties are to be conducted with Health & Safety at the forefront of any task and in full compliance with the Assignment Instructions and Site Guidance Procedures. Our Enhanced Security Officers employed on the Hinkley Point C Project are trained to an enhanced service level and their performance must meet or exceed the expectations of the security provider and our Client. Previous security experience is desirable but is not essential. Successful candidates are required to hold a valid Security Industry Authority (SIA) Licence (Security Guard level or above).
