THE DIFFERENCE YOU MAKE Santander Corporate & Commercial Banking (CCB) is looking for a Transactional Banking & Liabilities Lawyer based out of London. This role sits within the CCB Legal team, supporting the Transactional Banking and Liabilities business. You will provide legal advice across a broad suite of cash management, payments, and account products, supporting both strategic initiatives and business-as-usual activities. You will work closely with product, risk, compliance, and front-office teams to enable safe, compliant, and efficient delivery of client solutions. To succeed in this role, you will be responsible for: Providing legal advice on transactional banking and liabilities products including accounts, cash management, and payment services Drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, client documentation, and product terms and conditions Supporting product development, change initiatives, and digital platform evolution Advising on UK and EU payments regulation and financial crime frameworks Identifying, assessing, and escalating legal and regulatory risks Partnering with stakeholders across product, risk, compliance, operations, and technology Delivering timely, pragmatic legal advice aligned with risk appetite Driving innovation and continuous improvement, including use of legal technology and AI tools WHAT YOU'LL BRING Our people are our greatest strength. Professional Experience Qualified lawyer with experience in banking, financial services, or commercial contracts (Required) Experience advising on transactional banking products, cash management, or payments (Preferred) Experience working with digital banking platforms or connectivity solutions (Preferred) Education Law degree or equivalent legal qualification (Required) Languages English (Required) Hard Skills Strong drafting and negotiation skills (Required) Working knowledge of payments regulation and financial crime frameworks (Preferred) Understanding of legal risk management principles (Preferred) Soft Skills Strong stakeholder management and communication skills Commercial mindset with ability to balance risk and business objectives Proactive, adaptable, and solutions-focused approach WE VALUE YOUR IMPACT At Santander, your contribution matters.
