AdicoCare is a family run business with 12 Learning Disability residents.We are currently seeking a Support Worker to join our Lakeside and Ashbridge supported living. Both Locations is a 24-hour supported living scheme supporting adults with high mental health support needs to build the skills to move on independently. The shifts you will be working is Long days (8AM-8PM)n or short days (8Am-2PM, 2PM-8PM), you will be working on a rota bases which will be weekdays and alternative weekends. AdicoCare is looking for a caring person who shares our values and likes helping others is far more important than experience. You must have at least three months UK care experience. We follow the ethos of Positive Behaviour Support, engaging individuals in active support and focusing on community participation. You will support individuals to access meaningful activities in the community and on-site, work with families and professionals and support opportunities to promote daily independence and well-being. Possibility for experienced Waking Night Carer to take on 2 (or 3) consecutive nights (consecutive per week, regular nights). We need to cover either Monday & Tuesday or Wednesday & Thursday. If you were interested in 3 nights it could be Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday or Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. ** These are fixed nights.** There is the possibility for an occasional shift when covering for a colleague. Family/Client Pets: Friendly dog About this client/teenager F is 17 years old; he is a happy, affectionate and cheeky chap. He loves being with people, listening to music, being read to, getting foot massages and playing games with his younger sister. He also enjoys walks and loves nature. He has significant complex care and medical needs; he is reliant on his family and carers to meet all his needs and is supported by a dedicated team of carers and support workers providing 1:1 sometimes 2:1 24/7. He is autistic, non verbal, has a movement disorder and epilepsy which results in regular seizures, a PEG for medication and fluids but eats foods orally. He can walk with support but is also a wheelchair user. He lives with his loving and supportive family, who recognise that his team of carers support workers are instrumental in his overall development and well being. Overview of role: He requires an experienced waking night carer to join his team to assist with his bedtime routine and tend to all his needs throughout the night. This is an active night as you will need to keep a close eye on him, and following protocols if he has a seizure, supporting him with personal care, monitoring for any signs of distress, and In the mornings administering his PEG feed and medications. You will help sooth him, making sure he is comfortable, and he can get as much rest as possible. All activity throughout the night is to be accurately documented. Additional shifts available to cover leave etc. To attend staff meetings & supervision. To participate in training as required. To arrive in plenty of time to begin shift, read the handover notes and to receive information in handover from the staff team regarding the day’s events. Keep his environment clean and tidy. Help to fold and tidy away his laundry. You may have to attend holidays with the young person, which is usually for 1 week to 10 days in the summer and support him during occasional long weekends away mostly with his family. Headway Care is currently recruiting part time Support Workers to work in our 16+ Semi Independent Provision based in Redbridge. We are looking for people who are enthusiastic about supporting young people and helping them develop their independent skills. Our team provides support to young people with a range of different needs, from food shopping and cooking meals to accompanying them at college open days and job interviews. Some young people have complex needs and would require more support. At Headway Care we look to recruit staff that have a passion for helping people and who see working with children in social care as a career path. We do not require that you have experience working in a Semi-Independent provision previously, but we embrace people who can bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to the role of a Support Worker. An opportunity for a reliable and organised administrative support worker to assist a physically disabled staff member at a London University for up to 31.5 hours a week (flexibility can be discussed). The post will typically be split between a half day of virtual working on Mondays and three in person work days, either on campus or doing site visits. Flexibility is required as some weeks in person support will be required more or less than others. Locations include Hammersmith, Kensington and Northwest London.
