This is a vital role for a "hands-on" professional who thrives on variety and takes pride in maintaining commercial environments to the highest standards.\n\nWe are looking for someone with a solid foundation in Joinery, but who possesses the "handyman" mindset required to tackle basic plumbing, electrical, and general building fabric tasks.\n\nThe Role\n\nYou will be the "go-to" person for fabric maintenance across a diverse portfolio of commercial buildings (offices, retail, and industrial). While predominantly based in the North East, you will manage a mobile schedule that includes sites in Yorkshire and the Scottish Central Belt.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\n * Joinery & Carpentry: Repairs to doors, frames, ironmongery, cabinetry, and floor finishes.\n\n * General Maintenance: Patch plastering, painting/decorating, and ceiling tile replacement.\n\n * Basic Plumbing: Unblocking sinks, changing taps, repairing toilet flushes, and leak investigation.\n\n * Basic Electrical: Bulb/lamp replacement, re-securing loose fittings, and assisting with emergency lighting tests.\n\n * Facilities Support: Conducting regular site walk-rounds, identifying defects, and ensuring all common areas are safe and operational.\n\n * Compliance: Working within a professional FM framework, documenting tasks via a PDA/tablet, and adhering to strict H&S guidelines.\n\nRequirements\n\nThe ideal candidate is a resourceful technician who can work independently and solve problems on the fly.\n\n * Trade Background: NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Joinery/Carpentry is highly preferred.\n\n * Multiskilled: Proven ability to "turn your hand" to basic plumbing, minor electrical, and general fabric repairs.\n\n * Experience: Previous experience in a Commercial Maintenance or FM environment is essential.\n\n * Communication: Comfortable liaising with site managers and office-based clients.\n\n * Compliance: Full UK Driving License and a valid CSCS card.\n\n * Flexibility: Willingness to travel across the North East, Yorkshire, and Scotland.\n\nWhat’s In It For You?\n\n * Door-to-Door Travel: Your workday starts and ends at your front door—full pay for all travel time.\n\n * Private Use of Van: A modern company vehicle is provided, with permission for personal use.\n\n * Overtime Available: Regular opportunities to increase your earnings through additional hours.\n\n * Autonomy: Manage your own daily route and tasks with support from a dedicated central desk.\n\n * Stability: Long-term work on established, high-value commercial contracts.\n\nHow to Apply\n\nIf you are a skilled Joiner who enjoys a varied, mobile role where no two days are the same, we want to hear from you.\n\nApply online or contact Astrid Camacho at Branta Recruitment
