Job Description Salary: Teaching Assistant Grade E SCP 6 to 8 £13.05 to £13.47 per hour. Midday Supervisor / Play Leader Grade B SCP 2 £12.26 per hr Hours of work: TA:Monday to Friday 8.30-12.00 (16 ¼ hours per week) MDSA: 12.00-13.15 (6 ¼ hours per week) Contract type: Fixed Term 1 Year (Term time only) This is not a Wiltshire Council vacancy therefore please contact Redland Primary School for further information. A bit about us: At Redland School, we believe in developing and nurturing the whole child. Each child is unique, which is something we celebrate and value as a school. The core skills of English and maths are extremely important, but they alone do not define a child. Providing a curriculum which is enriching and broad, which stimulates interest and curiosity is integral. Alongside this, we actively promote being healthy and as active as possible. We were judged to be Good by Ofsted in January 2022. We wish to appoint an enthusiastic and skilled teaching assistant to join our supportive team with additional lunchtime responsibilities as an MDSA/play leader. All about the role: We wish to appoint someone who: • Is passionate about working with children to support their development, • Is an excellent team worker, • Understands the importance of safeguarding as part of their role, • Has experience working with children, • Has good standards of maths and English, • Has an understanding of the systematic approach to the teaching of phonics, • Can build positive relationships and relate well to children and adults, • Can be adaptable to the needs of the children, and is confident to use their own initiative, • Supervise, support and interact with children of all ages in the different areas around the school (playground, school hall etc) whilst they are eating lunch or taking part in lunchtime activities., • Facilitate and support a variety of outdoor play activities for the children at lunchtime, • Provide basic first aid when needed, • Children who are hardworking, enthusiastic and enjoy learning, • A friendly and supportive staff, with a range of skills and experience, • Opportunities for continued professional development
