SEN Teaching Assistant Location: Redhill Contract Type: Permanent Salary: £13.51 - £14.45 per hour Hours: 40 hours per week, Term Time only (Start time 8.15am. Finish time Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday 4.45pm, Thursday 5pm, and Friday 4pm) Reed is excited to partner with a newly opened SEND Secondary School Redhill. This school is dedicated to supporting young people aged 11-16 who require assistance with social communication, emotional regulation, and sensory processing, typically associated with Autism. The school offers a tailored curriculum designed to meet the needs, interests, and passions of each student, ensuring every opportunity to achieve is provided. Day-to-day of the role: • Take responsibility for safeguarding and promoting the welfare and positive wellbeing of pupils according to the school’s policies, including safeguarding and PREVENT., • Provide meaningful feedback on pupil behaviour, relationships, and attitudes., • Support positive behaviour and concentration levels of the children and adapt own behaviour and responses to any change or escalations in behaviour of the children., • Establish a positive relationship with pupils to support them in feeling safe and enabling them to enjoy and learn., • Promote and encourage independence and personal development and maintain high expectations of behaviour at all times and support in the achievement of this., • Implement, and when appropriate, adjust learning activities as agreed with the teacher. Reinforce learning concepts presented by teachers., • Support learning by arranging/providing resources for lessons/activities under the direction of the teacher., • GCSE Maths and English qualification minimum Grade 4 or equivalent is essential., • L2 award in supporting teaching and learning in schools or equivalent or willingness to work towards., • Previous experience of working within a relevant SEND Provision is desirable but not essential., • Understanding of the Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedures., • Experience of managing a range of approaches to behaviour, including managing behaviours that challenge., • Experience working within education is advantageous., • Competitive salary, • Opportunities for professional development in a supportive environment., • Access to a broad and exciting curriculum tailored to meet the needs of students.
