BBC Studios is the most awarded production company and the biggest independent producer in the UK. Kids & Family Productions produces a wide breadth of content for children in the UK, including Unscripted shows, Blue Peter, CBeebies Specials and Playtime Towers. Our Live Action Unit, produces shows such as The Dumping Ground, Odd Squad and Crookhaven. In Animation, we create Supertato, Maisy and Rafi the Wishing Wizard. At Kids & Family, we cover every genre! This is our entry level position into production management; you will work as a Production Management Assistant, supporting our Production Managers and Production Coordinators in creating quality content for all of our output, which may include TV, audio, online, events and digital platforms. Your Key Responsibilities And Impact As a Junior Production Coordinator apprentice with Kids & Family, this is a brilliant opportunity to learn, grow, and contribute - you may demonstrate the following: • Assist with shoots, studio setups, crew bookings, and call sheets., • Learn best practices in production management, Health & safety and Safeguarding., • Learn what goes into making and delivering a TV production including clearing copyright and completing Post Production Paperwork., • Reporting to the Production Manager, and in partnership with the editorial team, help to deliver outstanding, distinctive, multi-platform content; communicating effectively to ensure the delivery of the editorial vision. On successful completion of your apprenticeship, you will be able to apply for job roles such as a Production Management Assistant, Production Secretary or Production Coordinator, depending on experience both inside and outside of the BBC. The academic study involves attending instructor-led workshops; tutorial sessions; presentations and group work. Throughout your apprenticeship, you will be asked to gather a portfolio of evidence and work on an end point assessment that demonstrates your learning, while working towards a Level 4 apprenticeship qualification. This apprenticeship will give you a thorough knowledge and understanding of what it is like to work in production management and the media industry, which you can then utilise during your time at the BBC and afterwards in the wider industry. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA To be eligible for an apprenticeship at the BBC, you must: • Be 18 years old or over by the time the apprenticeship begins in September 2026, • Have lived in the UK continuously for the last 3 years prior to the start of the apprenticeship, • Be legally eligible to work full-time in the UK for the entire duration of the apprenticeship, • Not currently be enrolled in another apprenticeship programme, whether with the BBC or another organisation, • For candidates under the age of 19 years at the start of the apprenticeship, you must have achieved Maths and English GCSE at Grade 4/C or above or National 5 (Scotland) at C or Functional Skills Level 2 or equivalent qualification.
