Job description Chartered Valuation Surveyor - Technical Lead - Role Overview The HMRC Valuation Office are looking for experienced Chartered Valuation Surveyors across the UK to undertake complex and high profile Non-Domestic Rating casework (NDR). Our Technical Leaders provide technical advice to colleagues across the network. You will be a technical expert with a natural ability to coach and nurture colleagues undertaking professional qualifications. The role is essential to supporting our future surveying talent pipeline and providing valuable technical advice, leadership, and guidance. The Regional Valuation Unit (RVU) is an exciting, ever-changing environment and will provide you with an excellent opportunity to join our highly skilled, diverse, and growing organisation. The role will primarily deal with ratings where there is a unit wide or cross unit impact due to, for example, reputational of financial risk. We are eager to hear from experienced Valuation Surveyors with extensive rating experience having dealt with a broad range of property types across different valuation methodologies through to valuation tribunal. Chartered Valuation Surveyor - Technical Lead - Key responsibilities • Delivering Non-Domestic Rating casework and providing technical leadership, guidance and support to caseworkers in the Regional Valuation Unit., • Supporting the delivery of the Revaluation Programme., • Leading, motivating, and inspiring others to deliver results including sharing professional knowledge to help others develop., • Setting and maintaining a strategic overview of the framework for the work of the team, including embedding the VO vision and values., • Providing expert witness testimony and advocacy in complex litigation at VTE/VTW/UTLC and beyond.
