Our new 237,000-square-foot Newport facility provides additional production and customer collaboration spaces, including 25,000 square feet of R&D clean rooms, 35,000 square feet of state-of-the-art manufacturing space and tool demo areas, all designed to support development of semiconductor process technologies across advanced packaging, power devices, microelectromechanical systems (MEMS), radio frequency (RF) and photonics sector technology!The NPI reports through the KLA Service Organisation (KLAS) team headquartered in Milpitas, CA. Our comprehensive services include: proactive management of tools to identify and improve performance; expertise in optics, image processing and motion control with worldwide service engineers, 24/7 technical support teams and knowledge management systems; and an extensive parts network to ensure worldwide availability of parts.Primary ResponsibilityAs a Product Engineer (Sustaining & NPI), you will support a portfolio of surface and mechanical metrology systems, including Nano-indentation, Stylus Profilers, and Optical Profilers!This role focuses on improving service infrastructure, supporting incremental product changes, and improving field execution across an established install base. You will act as the Voice of Service, ensuring service strategies, tools, and processes scale optimally with evolving customer and product needs. See specific responsibilities below:Responsibilities:Service Infrastructure & StrategyDrive consistency and scalability of service models across shared platformsImprove service workflows, tooling, calibration processes, and parts strategiesIncremental Product SupportPartner with engineering on product updates (hardware, software, features)Assess and implement impacts to serviceability, training, and spare partsProduct Support Plan (PSP)Maintain and evolve PSPs using field data to refine cost, reliability, and PM strategiesFind opportunities for cross-product standardisation and simplificationField & Customer SupportSupport escalations and identify systemic issues across the install baseTranslate field feedback into engineering improvements and service solutionsTraining & Knowledge ScalingDevelop scalable training and documentation focused on shared infrastructureLead BKMs, troubleshooting flows, and knowledge systemsInstall & Continuous ImprovementSupport targeted installs and upgrades to validate and improve service processesDrive continuous improvement through best practices and cross-team teamworkTravelDomestic and international travel required (<25%)KLA is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
