We are currently seeking 3 experienced Freelance Site Managers to support works delivered under the NGED framework across multiple sites throughout the Midlands. This role will focus primarily on 132kV substation renewals and upgrades, requiring a proactive individual capable of managing multiple work fronts and coordinating project delivery safely and efficiently. Key Responsibilities • Oversee day-to-day site operations across multiple substation sites within the Midlands region., • Manage and supervise works associated with 132kV substation renewals, including civil, electrical and infrastructure elements., • Ensure all activities are carried out in accordance with NGED standards, procedures, and safety requirements., • Coordinate subcontractors, direct labour, and suppliers to maintain programme and quality standards., • Conduct site briefings, toolbox talks, and ensure strong health & safety compliance., • Liaise with project managers, engineers, and client representatives to ensure smooth project delivery., • Monitor progress across sites and provide regular updates on programme, risks, and resource requirements., • Maintain site documentation including RAMS, permits, and inspection records. Requirements • Proven experience as a Site Manager within the power / utilities sector., • Demonstrable experience delivering 132kV substation works or high-voltage infrastructure projects., • Experience managing multiple sites simultaneously., • Strong understanding of NGED procedures and framework delivery (highly desirable)., • Excellent leadership, communication, and coordination skills., • Essential Certifications, • SMSTS, • CSCS (Black or Gold Card), • First Aid at Work, • Full UK Driving Licence Desirable • National Grid / DNO experience, • Temporary Works Coordinator, • SSSTS / additional H&S qualifications What’s on Offer • Long-term freelance opportunity within a major NGED framework, • Opportunity to work on critical 132kV infrastructure upgrades, • Competitive day rate and consistent pipeline of work across the Midlands
