Electrical Engineer Location: Birmingham Salary: £Negotiable DOE About the Company This opportunity is with a specialist manufacturer producing high quality rolled metal products, operating state of the art casting and rolling equipment. The Birmingham site plays a key role in supplying niche non ferrous alloys into a range of industrial sectors. The business is well invested, technically advanced and committed to continuous improvement, reliability and safety across site. The Role As an Electrical Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting and enhancing the reliability, performance and safety of industrial control and automation systems across site. You will work closely with engineering and IT teams to ensure plant automation, control systems and digital infrastructure operate efficiently and securely within a heavy manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities • Support and maintain PLC, HMI, SCADA and DCS systems across site, • Diagnose and resolve electrical and control system faults to minimise downtime, • Assist with commissioning of new automation systems and plant upgrades, • Optimise control systems to improve plant performance and reliability, • Maintain and monitor industrial network infrastructure including switches, firewalls and VLANs, • Support implementation of cybersecurity standards and system patch management, • Work collaboratively with IT to maintain appropriate network segmentation, • Provide technical input into capital projects and plant modernisation, • Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental policies, • Maintain accurate documentation for control systems, changes and maintenance records, • Support risk assessments relating to automation and control systems Requirements • Degree, HNC or HND in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics or related discipline, • Experience working with PLC systems such as Siemens, Allen Bradley or Schneider, • Strong understanding of SCADA and HMI systems, • Experience with industrial network infrastructure including Ethernet IP, Profinet or Modbus TCP, • Previous experience within a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment, • Strong fault finding and root cause analysis capability What’s on offer: • Competitive salary, • Employer contribution pension scheme (9% total), • Monday to Friday – 40 hours per week with flexible start/finish times., • 25 days annual leave + Bank Holiday (2 extra days after 2 years’ service), • Onsite and offsite training and development, • Long term stability within a leading metal manufacturing business To Contact Direct: Daniel Barnett Senior Executive Consultant 0151 209 2050 At Aspion, our core values have been built around the importance of transparency, innovation, passion and collaboration.
