Hospital Porter We are currently for the position of a Hospital Porter within London Kings Cross. Your day-to-day tasks may include: - transferring patients to and from wards and departments - delivering clean linen to different wards from the laundry - collecting domestic and clinical waste, some of which may be hazardous - moving furniture and medical equipment safely - transferring files, specimen samples and pharmacy boxes to different parts of the hospital - moving deceased patients to the mortuary - dealing with incoming and outgoing mail - Your work could take you anywhere on the hospital site. In some hospitals you may assist with security, which could involve working on the reception desk and doing patrols. - You'll need: - the ability to cope well under pressure - the ability to act calmly and quickly in emergencies - the ability to cope well with sickness, death and distress - As a Hospital Porter you'll work around 37 to 40 hours a week, which can include shifts and weekends. Part-time hours are often possible. - up to £15 per hour - Cash/Bank Payments available

Growming and personal hygiene to follow Gaia’s standards R E S P O N S I B I L I T I E S o Able to load and unload dishware and flatware from the dishwashing machine and store them properly. o Able to safely set up, clean, and utilize the silver burnishing machine. o Able to clean, polish, sort, and transport required silver. o Ensure all needed supplies are in storage and the ability to requisition such supplies. o Able to set up, clean, and properly operate the dish machine safely and neatly, including disassembling and assembling for cleaning, loading, and unloading dishes and silver, and changing the water when necessary or instructed. o Able to maintain a clean, orderly, hazard-free work area and clean all areas. o Able to clean, dust, sweep, mop, polish, scrub, wash, strip, and buff, the specified areas. o Ensure that all food service and preparation ware is clean and sanitized. o Rack all china and glassware properly according to type and size to avoid breakage. o Keep the ware-washing area clean and safe. Clean the work area, drains, and machinery properly at the end of each shift. o Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Employees with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment. o Due to the cyclical nature of the industry, Employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the property. In addition, attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is required. o Upon employment, all Employees are required to fully comply with Gaia rules and regulations for the safe and effective operation of the facilities.
