Job Title: Metal & Stainless Steel Welder Fabricator Location: Stroud Salary: £19.00 per hour Hours: Minimum 40 hours per week (average 48 hours per week) About the Role We are seeking a skilled Metal & Stainless Steel Welder Fabricator to join our team, supporting projects within the water industry. You will be working alongside mechanical and civil engineering teams to fabricate and assemble high-quality components used in water infrastructure and treatment systems. Working Hours & Overtime • Standard working hours: 07:00 – 16:00, with a 1-hour unpaid break, • Weekday hours are paid at the standard hourly rate, • Overtime is typically available to meet project demands, • Weekend shifts are paid at time and a half (£28.50 per hour) Key Responsibilities • Fabricate and weld mild steel and stainless steel components to engineering drawings and specifications, • Perform MIG and TIG welding to a high standard, • Read and interpret technical drawings, plans, and blueprints, • Assemble fabricated parts for installation in water industry projects, • Ensure all work meets quality, safety, and industry standards, • Carry out inspections and basic quality checks on completed work, • Collaborate with mechanical and civil engineers to meet project requirements, • Maintain a clean and safe working environment Requirements • Proven experience as a welder fabricator, particularly with stainless steel, • Strong MIG and TIG welding skills, • Ability to read and work from technical drawings, • Experience working on infrastructure, water industry, or similar engineering projects (preferred), • Good understanding of health & safety regulations, • Strong attention to detail and workmanship quality, • Ability to work independently and as part of a team Desirable Skills • Previous experience in the water or utilities sector, • Welding certifications (e.g., coded welding), • Experience with site installation work What We Offer • Competitive hourly rate of £19.00, • Consistent workload with regular overtime opportunities, • Weekend overtime paid at enhanced rate, • Opportunity to work on specialist engineering projects within the water industry, • Supportive team environment
