Stern Energy are hiring experienced Field Service Engineers to support the ongoing operation and maintenance of our UK-based solar photovoltaic (PV) installations. Locations: • Bristol, • Durham/Darlington The right candidate shall have experience in the electrical installation and maintenance of industrial sites and specific knowledge of DC electrical systems. You will have previous experience or technical knowledge of photovoltaic systems and High voltage systems. Good dexterity and confidence on using basic electrical equipment such as multi-meters and insulation testers is required. Who are we? Main responsibilities • Visual inspection activities, cleaning and report to management team;, • Routine maintenance activities on modules, inverters, cables and connectors, DC and AC distribution boxes;, • Routine maintenance activities on module mounting systems, fence and gates, inverter and transformer stations (excluding equipment);, • Routine maintenance activities on monitoring and communication equipment (data logger, routers, sensors, etc.);, • Routine maintenance activities on security system devices (cameras, barriers, etc.);, • Fault finding on electrical components by means of visual inspections or professional site measurement activities (thermal imaging, insulation tester, etc.);, • Execute corrective measures to keep the system available;, • Engage and manage subcontractors; Skills and qualifications • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in electrical installation and maintenance, preferably in industrial or utility-scale environments., • Proven experience or technical knowledge of photovoltaic (PV) systems., • Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices., • Proficiency in using electrical testing tools, • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively, • Strong communication skills, • Problem-solving mindset, • Team player, • Professionalism, • Valid and clean car driving license;, • NVQ Level 3 electrical certification.
