As part of a long‑term commitment to strengthening onshore mRNA vaccine manufacturing in the UK, a state‑of‑the‑art research, development, and production facility is being established in Oxfordshire. This initiative will support respiratory vaccine manufacturing, create highly skilled roles, and promote collaboration with academic institutions, the NHS, and government partners across the country. We’re looking for a dynamic EHS Specialist to jump in and deliver high‑impact, short‑term onsite support to our Environmental, Health & Safety function. Partnering closely with the EHS Director, you’ll be at the heart of keeping our fast‑growing facility safe, compliant and running smoothly. This is your chance to make an immediate difference in a hands‑on, high‑visibility role. What You’ll Take Charge Of • Driving the creation and refresh of risk assessments across labs, facilities and active construction areas, ensuring every activity is safe and compliant., • Designing and delivering engaging EHS training that equips our teams with the knowledge to work confidently and safely., • Leading COSHH assessments and ensuring full alignment with UK regulatory requirements., • Writing, refining and standardising SOPs that elevate operational safety and consistency across the site., • Supporting incident investigations from start to finish — uncovering root causes and shaping corrective actions that prevent recurrence., • Reviewing contractor RAMS and Permits to Work to ensure all onsite activities meet our safety expectations., • Acting as a trusted EHS advisor to operational teams, providing practical guidance and proactive support. Requirements: • Demonstrated experience in an EHS advisory or similar role, ideally within biotech, pharma, laboratory, or technical environments, • Strong knowledge of UK HSE legislation and best practices, • Ability to produce clear, practical EHS documentation (risk assessments, SOPs, COSHH, etc.), • Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills, • NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent) as a minimum, NEBOSH Diploma preferred If this role isn’t suitable for you, please let us know if you can refer anyone – any recommendations are much appreciated!
