Location: Hull Office (Hybrid Working) Salary: £27,000 £32,000 per annum (depending on experience) Contract Type: Permanent Start Date: Immediate Job Overview SAAF Education is seeking an experienced and proactive Accounts Assistant to join our finance team based at our Hull office. This role offers hybrid working and is ideal for a finance professional who is confident managing day-to-day accounts tasks while communicating effectively with both clients and internal stakeholders. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the financial operations of the business and ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and strong credit control. Key Responsibilities The Accounts Assistant will be responsible for managing debt chasing and credit control processes, ensuring timely collection of outstanding balances and maintaining positive relationships with clients. The role will involve processing purchase invoices accurately and efficiently, posting journals, reconciling accounts, and supporting month-end processes. The postholder will liaise regularly with internal departments to resolve queries, provide financial information, and support smooth operational workflows. Maintaining accurate financial records and supporting compliance with internal controls and procedures will be a core part of the role. Person Specification Essential Criteria The successful candidate will have proven experience working in an accounts or finance role, with demonstrable experience in debt chasing and credit control. They must be confident processing purchase invoices, posting journals, and maintaining accurate financial records. Strong communication skills are essential, with the ability to communicate professionally and effectively with clients, colleagues, and senior staff. The candidate must be organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks to meet deadlines. A proactive and reliable approach, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, is essential. Desirable Criteria Previous experience working within a fast-paced environment is desirable. Experience using accounting software and strong IT skills, including Excel, would be advantageous. A finance-related qualification or active study towards one would be beneficial but not essential. Working Arrangements This role is based at SAAF Educations Hull office and offers hybrid working, with a combination of office-based and remote work.
