Job Family:Management ConsultingTravel Required:Up to 25%Clearance Required:NoneGuidehouse is seeking a Senior Consultant to support state energy agencies, regulators, and other public-sector organizations as they address critical challenges related to clean energy, grid modernization, affordability, infrastructure planning, and program implementation. Senior Consultants lead defined workstreams, develop analyses and deliverables, guide junior team members, and help clients make informed decisions.What You Will Do:Client Delivery & AnalysisLead assigned project tasks or workstreams by coordinating activities, managing priorities, tracking progress, and delivering high-quality work products.Conduct qualitative and quantitative analyses related to energy policy, programs, operations, infrastructure, markets, and public-sector investments, translating complex information into actionable findings and recommendations.Develop client-ready presentations, reports, analyses, and other deliverables that support client goals and decision-making.Collaborate with project teams, client counterparts, and subcontractors to advance workstream objectives, address risks and issues, and support successful project delivery.Participate in client meetings, workshops, interviews, and working sessions, communicating effectively with stakeholders and escalating broader project issues as appropriate.Team Leadership & CollaborationBuild productive working relationships with clients and colleagues through strong communication, preparation, and follow-through.Provide day-to-day guidance, mentoring, and first-level review for junior team members and subcontractors assigned to the workstream.Support project administration activities, including schedules, deliverable tracking, action-item management, and project documentation.Business Development & Practice ContributionSupport proposal development, market research, pursuit activities, and identification of client needs or follow-on opportunities.Monitor developments in energy policy, funding, regulation, and procurement relevant to clients and priority accounts.Contribute to thought leadership, knowledge assets, recruiting, onboarding, training, and other practice-building initiatives.Example Project AreasClean energy and decarbonization programsGrid modernization, reliability, and resilienceBuilding and transportation electrificationEnergy affordability and customer programsDistributed energy resources and infrastructure planningProgram design, implementation, evaluation, and grants managementWhat You Will Need:Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university3+ years of experience in consulting, government, energy, utilities, public policy, sustainability, infrastructure, data analytics, program operations, or a related fieldExperience managing assigned workstreams, conducting analysis, and developing client-facing reports, presentations, or other deliverablesStrong analytical, written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a collaborative consulting environmentProficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and TeamsAbility to travel as requiredNo sponsorship is available for this positionWhat Would Be Nice To Have:Experience supporting government agencies, public authorities, utilities, regulators, or mission-driven organizationsFamiliarity with NYSERDA, NYPA, the New York State Public Service Commission, New York utilities, or related organizationsExperience inenergy, clean energy programs, infrastructure, sustainability, or regulated industriesExperience supporting program implementation, PMOs, grants management, policy analysis, or business-development effortsGraduate degree and/or relevant professional certificationThe annual salary range for this position is $107,000.00-$178,000.00.
