This is a general management role with full responsibility for operational performance, profitability, transport & waste compliance, and overall team management. Key Responsibilities for the General Manager • Lead day-to-day skip hire, transport and waste transfer station operations, • Drive revenue growth and improve operational efficiency, • Oversee the sales and administration team members in the office., • Oversee the routing, and maintenance of the HGVs and recycling plant in conjunction with the workshop fitter and transfer station management., • Ensure full compliance with environmental and transport regulations, • Oversee set budgets, P&L, and cost control for the site, • Lead and develop operational, driving, yard, and office teams, • Maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships Key Experience for the General Manager • Proven management experience in waste management or transfer station background., • Strong financial and commercial acumen, • Excellent communication and problem solving skills, • Knowledge of environmental and health & safety regulations, • Excellent leadership and decision-making skills, • Experience managing HGV/transport operations, • Experience running recycling operations for, metal recycling, plastics, wood, general waste or skips., • Experience working with management/board remotely, • Qualifications in transport management inc OLAT, CPC and WAMITAB or similar environmental management experience desirable.
