You'll be the go-to expert offering sound advice to the business-trusted to challenge, influence, and uphold the highest safety standards.\n\nWhy This Role?\nUnique opportunity to operate as a trusted, independent authority within the business\n\nHigh visibility role with direct impact on product safety and regulatory compliance\n\nExposure to senior stakeholders, regulators, and complex engineering programmes\n\nOpportunity to shape safety standards and influence regulatory practices\n\nWhat You will be doing: \n\nRegulatory & Stakeholder Management\nAct as the primary interface with airworthiness authorities (e.g. EASA), maintaining strong and effective relationships\n\nInterpret, negotiate, and influence regulatory requirements, including means of compliance for initial certification and changes\n\nRepresent the organisation on external airworthiness committees and regulatory forums\n\nProduct Safety & Assurance\nProvide independent oversight of product safety and airworthiness compliance\n\nReview and accept certification, service, and safety documentation, extracting key evidence to ensure safety and regulatory compliance\n\nIdentify and escalate any airworthiness concerns, ensuring timely corrective actions\n\nContribute to accident/incident investigations where required\n\nCertification & Engineering Support\nSupport certification and continued airworthiness activities across projects\n\nReview new designs, modifications, and repair instructions to ensure compliance\n\nGuide teams on certification approvals, compliance reporting, and regulatory expectations\n\nApprove certain documents under privileges granted by the regulator\n\nPolicy, Process & Continuous Improvement\nSupport the development and implementation of airworthiness policies and the Safety Management System\n\nAct as a Subject Matter Expert for product safety processes\n\nProvide training and guidance to internal teams on regulatory and safety requirements\n\nIdentify opportunities to improve safety outcomes and influence regulatory evolution\n\nWhat We're Looking For\n\nTechnical Expertise\nStrong knowledge of airworthiness regulations and certification processes\n\nExperience working with international regulatory authorities (e.g. EASA)\n\nBroad understanding of aerospace products and in-service operations\n\nSkills & Behaviours\nCritical thinker with strong analytical capability-able to review comprehensive technical documents and identify key risks and insights\n\nIndependent and resilient-comfortable operating as a stand-alone specialist and challenging stakeholders when required\n\nConfident communicator-able to influence senior stakeholders and regulators\n\nSound judgement with the ability to balance safety, cost, and delivery considerations\n\nQualifications\nDegree in Engineering (or equivalent experience)\n\nProfessionally accredited (e.g. Chartered Engineer or working towards)\n\nMembership of a relevant professional body (e.g. Royal Aeronautical Society) is desirable\n\nRegional Benefits \n\nOur People are our power, so when join Rolls-Royce you are offered more than a salary.
