Site-Based Construction Manager – Data Centre Infrastructure Location: West London Salary: £70,000 – £100,000 depending on experience Type: Permanent preferred; contract also considerd Start: Anticipated early September 💷 £70k–£100k | West London | Early September start | Major data centre infrastructure works A high-priority Construction Manager role supporting the urbanisation, civils and external infrastructure phase of a major hyperscale data centre development. This is one for a sharp, site-led CM who can manage Tier 1 / Tier 2 contractors, drive programme, control risk and represent the client properly on a complex live project About the role You’ll be based on site in West London, overseeing infrastructure and urbanisation works linked to a wider data centre development The role suits a strong Construction Manager with heavy civils, highways, utilities, drainage, earthworks, piling, external works or major project infrastructure experience. This is not a passive reporting role. The client needs someone visible, organised, technically credible and confident enough to drive standards across contractors, stakeholders and site teams. Key responsibilities • Oversee day-to-day site delivery across civils, highways, utilities and external works packages, • Manage Principal Contractor performance and multiple subcontractor interfaces, • Review construction programmes, milestones, progress, delay risks and mitigation plans, • Support CDM 2015 duties from a client-side / client representative position, • Review Construction Phase Plans, welfare provision and PC / PD interfaces, • Liaise with statutory bodies, local authorities, utility providers and third-party stakeholders, • Produce clear progress updates, risk registers and status reports for senior stakeholders, • Maintain strong control around H&S, quality, access, logistics, risk and site coordination. Requirements • Strong UK construction management background, ideally 10+ years, • Significant senior site-based Construction Manager experience, • Civils / infrastructure experience: roads, drainage, earthworks, piling, utilities diversions or external works, • NEBOSH Construction Certificate, NVQ Level 6 in Construction Site Management or equivalent, • Strong working knowledge of CDM 2015, • Experience overseeing Principal Contractors and major subcontract packages, • Confident communicator, able to work independently and represent the client on site Desirable / nice-to-have • Data centre, hyperscale, colocation or mission-critical project experience, • Section 278 / highways works and Local Authority adoption experience, • Brownfield site experience, including contaminated land, asbestos in made ground or high water table conditions, • SMSTS and Black CSCS card, • NEC3 / NEC4 awareness, • Temporary works, asbestos awareness, First Aid, IOSH or environmental certification, • Experience with multinational technology, blue-chip, infrastructure or security-sensitive project environments About the employer / environment This role supports a major data centre development in a high-expectation, client-side environment.
