Quantity Surveyor – Civils Due to the nature of this project, which is based on a high-security site, successful candidates will be required to undergo additional security screening. BPSS-level security clearance is mandatory, and the clearance process may take approximately 4–6 weeks. Please note that only candidates who: • Hold a passport from an EU, NATO, 5 Eyes, or MISWG member country, and, • Have continuously resided in the UK for the past 5 years will be eligible for consideration. Role Overview You will be working within a live MOD facility, supporting commercial and contractual management across civil engineering works. This is a client-facing role requiring strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to cost and contract management. Key Responsibilities • Provide commercial input, including financial and contractual performance forecasts, to the management team, • Support delivery of business targets and KPIs, • Ensure cash flow is effectively managed, including timely payments and receipts, • Prepare and review monthly cost reports, analysing results and identifying trends with the wider project team, • Forecast and monitor expenditure against approved client budgets, • Undertake physical measurement of works and agree valuations with clients and subcontractors, • Manage certification and payment of subcontractor accounts, ensuring alignment with forecasts, • Implement and comply with contract change control procedures, including appropriate client communication, • Manage subcontractors, including issuing enquiries, analysing quotations, negotiating, placing orders, and agreeing final accounts, • Assess, review, and mitigate commercial and contractual risks in line with company risk management policies, • Maintain strong client relationships through clear and professional communication Candidate Requirements • Professionally qualified Quantity Surveyor or relevant graduate qualification (HNC / BSc / MSc in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management), • CSCS White PQP/AQP card, • Strong understanding and experience of NEC contracts, • Experience with CEMAR (desirable but not essential), • Experience using Coins / Causeway accounting systems, • Full UK driving licence, • Degree educated or equivalent relevant experience, • Previous experience in a similar Quantity Surveying role, • Strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel, • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, • Strong organisational and time management abilities, • Ability to work effectively within a diverse, high-performing team
