Welder Fabricator \n TIG Welder \n Full Time Permanent Role \n £15 - £19 an hour DOE \n Overtime available \n Days Shift \n Cambridge Area \n To fabricate, assemble, and weld metal components and structures to precise engineering specifications, ensuring high-quality, durable products that meet safety standards and project deadlines, working in collaboration with the Welding team leader, Production Engineering, and the Quality Department \n \n Key Responsibilities \n\n • Perform high-quality TIG welding on stainless steel, aluminium, and mild steel to precise standards.\n, • Carry out MIG welding operations as required for specific projects.\n, • Support the company's transition toward laser welding, bringing existing experience or a willingness to train and develop in this area.\n, • Fabricate and assemble sheet metal components, frames, and structures according to engineering drawings and specifications.\n, • Operate and maintain fabrication equipment, welding tools, and measuring instruments.\n, • Complete grinding, cutting, and finishing work as part of the fabrication process.\n, • Deliver work to high standards of accuracy, quality, and finish.\n, • Prepare metal materials for fabrication and welding to meet job requirements.\n, • Ensure all orders are completed accurately, within budget, and delivered on time, meeting company Quality Objectives.\n, • Work from customer drawings and specifications to produce parts in accordance with the our clients Quality - Code of Practice.\n, • Inspect parts in line with the company's Checking/Inspection Process.\n, • Accurately open and close work orders using the company's computerised system (ProgressPlus).\n, • Actively monitor working practices and provide feedback to improve efficiency and job profitability.\n, • Ensure strict compliance with Health & Safety standards and environmental regulations.\n, • Maintain a clean, organized work area in accordance with the Company Code of Conduct and housekeeping standards.\n, • Comply with the company's Environmental and Recycling Policy.\n, • Maintain flexibility to work on a variety of projects typical of a busy subcontract environment.\n, • Undertake any additional duties as required to support the team and overall business objectives.\n\n \n \n General responsibilities \n \n Health & Safety Responsibilities \n\n • All employees are responsible for adhering to health and safety procedures and guidelines, ensuring a safe working environment for themselves and others. It is essential to uphold high standards to ensure that customer needs and expectations are fully met.\n\n \n On \n \n Person Specification \n Skills & Knowledge Requirements \n\n • Strong capabilities in TIG, particularly with light gauge materials (1-3mm), including stainless steel, mild steel, and aluminium.\n, • Basic MIG welding skills as a supporting process as minimum.\n, • Laser welding experience or a genuine interest in developing laser welding skills.\n, • Confident using fabrication machinery, hand tools, and measuring equipment.\n, • Skilled in sanding and dressing fabricated components to achieve high-quality finishes.\n, • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and apply specified tolerances accurately.\n, • Experience with MRP systems, including booking jobs on and off.\n, • Basic IT skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel (advantageous).\n, • Tidy, methodical approach to tasks and maintaining an organised workspace.\n, • Effective team player with a flexible and proactive attitude to meet changing work requirements.\n, • Awareness of computerisation in manufacturing environments.\n, • Good understanding of engineering quality standards and requirements.\n, • Good understanding of safe working practices and welding safety standards.\n\n \n MIG or TIG or Welder or WELDING or Welder Fabricator \n \n
