Role: Serious Injury Paralegal Assistant \n Location: Wakefield, West Yorkshire \n Contract: Full time, permanent, hybrid \n Salary: £27,000 - £30,000 \n We are working with a highly regarded legal services provider to recruit a Paralegal Assistant to join its specialist Serious Injury team. \n This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and ambitious legal professional to gain valuable experience supporting complex claimant serious injury matters within an established and busy legal environment. \n Working alongside experienced legal professionals, you'll provide a combination of legal, administrative and case management support, helping to ensure files are progressed efficiently while maintaining the high level of client care the team is known for. \n The role would suit someone looking to build their experience within Personal Injury and Serious Injury, with structured training and opportunities to develop their career within the wider legal team. \n The Role \n You'll work closely with senior fee earners and legal professionals, providing day-to-day support across a varied caseload of serious injury claims. \n Your responsibilities will include: \n\n • Supporting senior legal professionals with the management and progression of serious injury claims.\n, • Preparing and sending correspondence and legal documentation.\n, • Updating case management systems and maintaining accurate electronic files.\n, • Communicating with clients, solicitors, experts and other third parties by telephone and email.\n, • Dealing with enquiries promptly and professionally, ensuring information is accurately recorded and passed to the appropriate person.\n, • Assisting with the preparation and organisation of case documentation.\n, • Arranging appointments, meetings and other diary commitments where required.\n, • Liaising with internal teams regarding payments, invoices, disbursements and financial queries.\n, • Monitoring outstanding actions and assisting fee earners with progressing matters.\n, • Maintaining accurate filing systems and ensuring documents are stored appropriately.\n, • Providing wider administrative support to the team during busy periods.\n, • Assisting with general office and departmental administration as required.\n\n You'll play an important role in helping the team operate effectively, while gaining exposure to the day-to-day management of complex claimant serious injury cases. \n About You \n We're looking for someone who is organised, proactive and keen to develop a career within the legal sector. \n Previous experience within Personal Injury or Serious Injury would be advantageous, although we're also interested in candidates who can demonstrate strong transferable legal, administrative or case management experience. \n You'll ideally have: \n\n • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.\n, • Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to your work.\n, • The ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively to deadlines.\n, • Excellent organisational and time management skills.\n, • Confidence communicating with clients and external contacts.\n, • A professional and positive approach to client service.\n, • Experience using case management systems.\n, • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.\n, • The ability to work independently while also contributing effectively to a wider team.\n\n Desirable Experience \n It would be beneficial if you have: \n\n • Previous experience within Personal Injury or Serious Injury.\n, • Exposure to complex litigation or higher-value claims.\n, • Experience working within a legal services or professional services environment.\n, • An interest in developing a longer-term career within litigation.\n\n Most importantly, you'll be reliable, enthusiastic and willing to learn, with the drive to develop your legal knowledge and take on increasing responsibility over time. \n Training & Career Development \n This role offers more than just administrative experience.
