We are looking for a part-time (3 days a week) bartender with a basic knowledge of classic cocktails for a stunning rooftop restaurant in Rose Court at Southwark bridge road. RESPONSIBILITIES: - Mix and serve drinks in a professional and friendly manner - Prepare and ensure the bar is always fully stocked, garnish is prepared and that work areas are clean and ready for service. Delegate to barback when necessary and spot check before service - Ensure the bar is lit correctly and that music is playing before opening to guests - Support fellow team members and assist the management team in the daily running of the bar - Acknowledge and greet guests promptly and in accordance with the order of service. Interact and create rapport with guests - Be aware of special customer requests, allergies, special occasions, comps, VIP’s and other important information - Ensuring that drink and food is always handled, transported and stored in accordance with food safety and health and safety standards - Ensure to overlook the floor in front of the counter and circulate on the floor regularly - Upkeep knowledge of new cocktails as well as creating and planning new ones - When appropriate, check identification of guests to verify age requirements for purchase of alcohol - Record all sales transactions on the till system and check bills before presenting it to the table - Ensure that the cleaning schedule is followed including cleaning of glass washer, coffee machine, fridge’s and ice wells. - Pro-actively keep up to date with promotions and upsell through suggestive selling when appropriate. Ask for preferences and make recommendations. - Always seek to improve personal knowledge regarding products, opening times and share this with team members. - Follow the due diligence of personal hygiene, food safety, health and safety, wastage, accident reporting, fire alarms, cleaning schedules, stock control, pest control and general maintenance. Assist in completing necessary paperwork.
