Description End User Services Service Operations Specialist Location: Whiteley Clearance Requirements: Able to obtain or currently hold UK SC Clearance is required for this position. We are looking for a detail-oriented IT Business professional with a background in IT support or service operations, who is comfortable working across technical support, service processes, and operational improvement activities. You will be self-motivated and able to work autonomously, reporting to the End User Services Manager and supporting BAU operations while contributing to service improvement initiatives. You will be comfortable engaging directly with customers and colleagues, applying a structured and analytical approach to operational and technical challenges. This is a senior technical leadership role, offering the opportunity to shape next-generation digital ICs used in safety-critical and high-performance applications. To act as Master aboard the Company hovercraft, to operate and navigate in a safe, efficient and professional manner, taking into account the weather conditions and the operating limitations of the vessels being operated. To implement the company Safety and Environmental protection policy. Hold accountability as Master for the standards in safety, safety culture and professionalism. Holders of appropriate UK qualifications may apply to obtain this CoC issued by the MCA under STCW regulation II/3 as stated in MSN1856 and with reference to Annex D therein., • Master II/2 or II/3 - Upgrade without Examination, • Chief Mate II/2 or II/3 - Upgrade without Examination, • OOW II/1 (Unlimited) - Upgrade requires a pass in MCA Orals Examination ‘D’ A candidate is required to successfully complete HSC Type Rating Training as a trainee Master on the company hovercraft. This comprises of a minimum of 25 hours basic hovercraft training followed by at least 100 hours under supervision on the route as well as 20 hours additional radar training specific to high-speed operations. A successful candidate will be issued with a HSC Type Rating Certificate (TRC) appropriate to the type of hovercraft, this will be endorsed by the MCA. As well as the training above a Master is also required to hold; • A certificate of medical fitness (ENG1), • An Elementary First-Aid Certificate, • A GMDSS Restricted Radio Operators license, • A Personal Sea Survival certificate (PST) Post qualification, Masters will complete a Line-check with an HSC Type Rating Examiner at least once every twelve months for each type of craft used on the route (this term is shorter for trainee and inexperienced Masters). The line-check provides an opportunity to carry out emergency procedures and test emergency systems that would otherwise very rarely be used. Working as part of a team of technical technicians and engineers, the Shift Technicians will perform RF (Radio Frequency) testing within our brand-new state of the art test facility. This role will require the successful candidate to contribute to a rotating shift pattern to cover the demand for 24/7 testing. The shift pattern will involve rotating across two shifts (10am-10pm or 10pm-10am) on a 4 shifts on, 4 shifts off basis. Initial training will be delivered on a shift pattern of Monday-Friday, 37 hours per hour, 8:30am-5:00pm before transferring to the shift rotation after training. Duties and Responsibilities: • Being part of a team delivering test services as part of a 24-hour, 7 day shift pattern, undertaking RF test in accordance with harmonised test standards (the most common being ETSI and FCC), or customer specific test plans, within the RF test facilities at Octagon House., • Control and monitor the test equipment calibration status during testing., • Working with customers during attended testing., • Close liaison with the Project Manager to ensure work is carried out accurately and within the agreed timescales., • Accurate recording of results following company quality procedures and providing clear, concise communication at end of shifts. Essential Criteria: • Educated to NVQ level 3 in Electrical / Electronic Engineering or have hands on practical experience in an engineering environment, • Experience with RF test equipment like spectrum analysers or Oscilloscopes., • Motivated and enthusiastic., • Have a good understanding of IT systems such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook., • Conscientious with good interpersonal and customer skills and commercial awareness., • Have proven ability of documenting results accurately., • Willing to work as part of a team on 24 hour / 7 day shifts performing radiated RF testing using automated test scripts., • Are able to access the site independently as public transport will not always be available due to shift patterns.
