We are seeking a committed and experienced Consultant CAMHS Psychiatrist to join the Emotional Wellbeing and Mental Health (EWMH) Care Group in the Cardiff region. This role offers a diverse mix of clinical, teaching, research, and leadership responsibilities within a supportive and forward-thinking environment. Key Responsibilities: • Deliver psychiatric assessments, interventions, and pharmacological treatments., • Provide input across the Crisis Pathway (Crisis Team, IHTT, CITT)., • Participate in the Regional Out of Hours Psychiatry Rota (currently 1 in 15)., • Offer emergency psychiatric support to the Eating Disorder Team (Mondays and Thursdays)., • Collaborate with Paediatric, Adult Mental Health, and Medical colleagues., • Supervise and mentor junior medical staff., • Engage in clinical audit and contribute to service development. Teaching & Education: • Teach medical students and multidisciplinary staff., • Participate in postgraduate education and CPD sessions., • Attend monthly psychiatry and directorate-wide training events. Research & Development: • Opportunities for personal clinical research., • Strong academic links with Cardiff University School of Medicine. Management & Leadership: • Work with local management to ensure efficient service delivery., • Contribute to strategic planning and policy implementation., • Support workforce development and service improvement initiatives. Administrative Duties: • Maintain high standards in documentation, infection control, and data protection., • Attend departmental meetings and contribute to clinical governance.
