This position is based at their Welwyn Garden City facility, a site that has recently undergone significant multi-million-pound investment, with further expansion and improvement plans already underway. As a Maintenance Engineer, you will play a key role in maintaining and improving a wide range of industrial manufacturing equipment, including rolling mills, saw lines, gas burners, separators, and filtration systems. You’ll also have the opportunity to contribute to ongoing projects and site upgrades focused on increasing reliability, efficiency, and productivity. The Role As a Maintenance Engineer, your responsibilities will include: Working as part of a skilled engineering team alongside other engineers, a team leader, and an apprentice Carrying out mechanical fault finding and maintenance on equipment including hydraulics, pneumatics, rolling mills, and associated machinery Responding to breakdowns efficiently while also following a planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedule to minimise downtime Supporting installation work, upgrades, and continuous improvement projects across the site Contributing ideas and improvements to help drive site performance and operational efficiency Developing into a potential Team Leader position, with opportunities to take on greater responsibility within projects and site development initiatives The Candidate To be successful in this role, you should have: A recognised engineering qualification Previous experience within a manufacturing or industrial maintenance environment Strong mechanical fault-finding skills, with electrical knowledge including work on three-phase motors The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment A proactive attitude, strong problem-solving skills, and the ambition to progress into a leadership role in the future The Package As a Maintenance Engineer, you will receive: A salary of £47,000 – £55,000 depending on experience Additional earning potential through overtime, bonuses, and safety incentives Monday to Friday days-based shifts with flexibility Excellent progression opportunities within the next 6–12 months The chance to join a growing, heavily invested manufacturing business with strong long-term prospects ATA is committed to creating a diverse workforce and is an equal opportunities employer.
