About the Role\n Are you a hands-on individual who takes pride in creating safe and welcoming environments? We’re on the lookout for a proactive and reliable Maintenance Operative (Caretaker) to join our dedicated team. In this role, you will help ensure our school remains a secure and well-maintained space for pupils, staff, and visitors. \n This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience in maintenance, trades, or caretaking who enjoys a dynamic role where no two days are the same. From repairs and security checks to supporting school events, you’ll be an essential part of our daily operations. Your Responsibilities\n\n • Open and secure the school site and buildings.\n, • Perform routine maintenance, minor repairs, and general upkeep tasks.\n, • Conduct regular site security, health and safety, and compliance checks.\n, • Set and monitor alarm systems, responding to security concerns.\n, • Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment across the school grounds.\n, • Support school events, lettings, and activities outside core hours when required.\n, • Report maintenance issues and assist with planned preventative maintenance.\n, • Collaborate with colleagues and contractors to uphold high standards across the site.\nWhat You’ll Bring\n Qualifications, Skills, and Experience: \n\n • Experience in maintenance, caretaking, facilities, trades, or grounds maintenance.\n, • Full UK Driving Licence.\n, • Practical skills in plumbing, decorating, joinery, electrical work, or general repairs.\n, • Self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently.\n, • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.\n, • Pride in maintaining safe and high-quality environments.\n, • Able to manage competing priorities and respond positively to unexpected challenges.\n, • Willingness to develop new skills and undertake relevant training.\n\n While not essential, we’d love to hear from candidates with: \n\n • IWFM Level 2, IOSH, First Aid at Work, Fire Marshal, or other Health & Safety qualifications.\n, • Experience in a school, education, or similar environment.\n, • Facilities management or grounds maintenance experience.\nHow to Apply\n Ready to make a difference?
