SEND Specialist Resources Technician - PART TIME • Location: Halifax, • Job Type: Part time, Temp - 3 days a week, • Daily Rate: £110.29 / £13.30 PAYE per hour We are seeking a SEND Specialist Resources Technician to join our team in Calderdale. This role is crucial in promoting and sustaining the inclusion of children and young people (CYP) with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) within their local mainstream schools and educational settings. The successful candidate will be instrumental in building capacity within educational settings and ensuring that CYP with SEND have their needs identified and assessed early. Day-to-day of the role: • Maintain and develop technological systems, software, equipment, and resources to provide educational materials/technology for CYP with SEND., • Provide services for formatting, reproducing, collating, indexing, and binding Braille and large print books, drawings, diagrams, and curriculum materials., • Establish effective professional working relationships across SIT and education, health, and care services for assessment, procurement, maintenance, and review of specialist resources and equipment., • Oversee provision, storage, and maintenance of equipment, resources, and materials., • Produce and maintain an inventory/index and manage a booking system for loaning resources and equipment., • Produce and share user guidance, demonstrations, and explanations to maximise the use of resources., • Develop publicity materials (e.g., newsletters, brochures, websites) for the team., • Work with staff and stakeholders to evaluate the effectiveness and quality of resources and equipment., • Keep up to date with national developments in SEND digital technologies, equipment, and resources., • Work collaboratively with SEND Specialist Officers, Teachers, and Coordinators on technology and resource matters. Required Skills & Qualifications: • Level 3 qualification or above (e.g., A Level, NVQ Level 3, Advanced Apprenticeship) or equivalent., • Must hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle for work purposes., • Experience using/implementing SEND resources, interventions, and support systems (e.g., AT and AAC)., • Knowledge of best practice SEND models (AT/AAC specialism)., • Understanding of SEND and barriers faced by CYP using AAC/AT., • Knowledge of key legislation including the Children and Families Act 2014, SEND Code of Practice 2015, and Equality Act 2010., • Good organisational skills and ability to manage own workload. Additional Experience: • Experience in educational settings (e.g., Specialist Provision School, Early Years, Childcare)., • Experience supporting CYP with complex needs., • Experience working with parents/carers and families., • Ability to support reflective practice and overcome barriers., • Commitment to ongoing professional development in SEND.
