Janus supports the UK’s leadership within NATO’s Defence Innovation Accelerator for the North Atlantic (DIANA), advancing cutting-edge innovation in defence and security technologies. Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role for an Operations Assistant & Front of House, based in London. The role involves supporting daily operations, providing excellent customer service as the first point of contact, and coordinating administrative tasks. Responsibilities also include maintaining operational efficiency, assisting with event coordination, and ensuring the smooth running of front-of-house activities. The Operations Assistant will play a vital role in ensuring a welcoming and professional environment for employees, clients, and visitors. This entry-level role is perfect for graduates wanting to enter the deep-tech or Defence Tech world. Role Responsibilities Operations Support • Assist with day-to-day operational tasks to ensure smooth running of the site, • Support set-up and pack-down for events, services, or daily operations, • Help monitor stationary levels and assist with restocking supplies, • Follow operational procedures, checklists, and schedules accurately, • Support coordination between front-of-house, back-of-house, and management teams, • Assist with basic administrative tasks such as logging information or updating records Front of House (FOH) • Greet and welcome guests in a friendly, professional, and approachable manner, • Act as the first point of contact for visitors, customers, and clients, • Provide accurate information, answer basic enquiries, and direct guests as needed, • Assist with security passes, check-ins, and registrations where applicable, • Maintain a clean, organised, and presentable front-of-house area at all times, • Support experience by identifying and responding to staff and guest needs promptly, • Handle basic feedback or concerns and escalate issues when required Qualifications, Skills and Experience • Proficiency in Operations and Operations Management to ensure smooth day-to-day functioning and support strategic initiatives, • Strong Analytical Skills to identify areas for improvement, streamline processes, and solve problems effectively, • Excellent Communication skills to interact with team members, clients, and stakeholders professionally, • Experience in Customer Service to provide exceptional support and create a positive experience for all visitors, • Capable of multitasking and prioritizing tasks in a dynamic environment, • Attention to detail and ability to maintain high standards of organisation, • Previous experience in a front-of-house or operational support role is advantageous, • Proficiency in relevant office software and technologies, • Strong sense of initiative and ability to work independently and as part of a team Due to legal and regulatory requirements, this role is open only to individuals who are nationals of a NATO member state. Terms & Application Given the sensitivity of some of our work, you will be required to undergo a BPSS check. Salary: £21K-£25K per annum depending on experience. This is an entry level role with salary reflecting this. Based: In person, White City, London. Contract duration: Fixed term contract until 13 November 2026 with a possible extension up to 3 years.
