Consultant Paediatrician – Autism & ADHD Assessments We are seeking experienced and compassionate Consultant Paediatricians who share our core values of commitment, trust, integrity, and kindness to join our growing neurodevelopmental assessment service. About the Role You will provide high-quality Autism and ADHD assessments for children and young people aged 3–18 years, delivering thoughtful, evidence-based diagnoses in a supportive and family-centred way. Key responsibilities include: • Conducting comprehensive developmental histories using recognised tools and preferred assessment methods., • Observing children and young people during assessment sessions, ensuring all interactions are age-appropriate, respectful, and compassionate., • Reviewing ADOS reports, developmental histories, and relevant collateral information from home and school within the same assessment session., • Formulating diagnoses in line with DSM-5 criteria, concluding assessments, and delivering clear, sensitive feedback to families, including recommendations and signposting to local and national resources., • Collaborating with the multidisciplinary team (MDT) where further information is required, with the option to offer follow-up sessions to finalise diagnoses., • Producing high-quality, detailed diagnostic reports within 48 hours of assessment (full administrative support is provided for formatting and quality assurance)., • Requesting onward referrals where clinically indicated, in line with local NHS Trust and ICB protocols. About the role As a Huntingtons Disease Specialist Nurse with Exemplar Health Care, youll act in a proactive manner to support our homes to provide and our care via a systematic, coordinated and coaching approach. No two days will ever be the same, but your day-to-day responsibilities will include: supporting the implementation of new initiatives to improve peoples quality of life developing effective working practises establishing a complete understanding of the needs of the people in our homes who have a HD primary diagnosis i.e., what is their secondary diagnoses, their complex care and risk requirements tailoring colleague training requirements to meet the needs of people in a person-centred way, as well as supporting in the delivery of this training developing and embedding a HD Champion role, and support these Champions to link directly with their local HD networks working with the Operational Team (Clinical Nurse Managers / Registered Nurses and HD Champions) to offer support and coach assisting with the development of quality policies and procedures, audit materials and Service User, Colleague and Relative information materials. building external brand reputation in our ability to care for the people we support with HD About you Above all, youre someone who identifies with our Exemplar Health Care values of fun, integrity, responsiveness, success and teamwork. You must also have a first-level nursing registration with a valid Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) PIN. As this is a high level, strategic role, you should have a minimum of two years experience in a specialist nurse role and extensive experience and knowledge of Huntingtons Disease. Youll also have: evidence of further professional development in relation to care, management or quality ability to coach and motivate others a strong background in action planning excellent written and verbal communication skills a pragmatic approach, with strong problem solving and analytical skills, along with the ability to apply these in complex situations the ability to work collaboratively with, and travel to all locations across the business.
