QuestLearn will arrange the students for you, allowing you to focus on planning and delivering high-quality specialist teaching. We provide respite services for families, and many of the children who attend have complex and high levels of need. We are therefore looking for people who already have relevant experience supporting children with SEND and are confident working in a hands-on support role. Available Work After School: 3:00pm–6:00pm Sundays: 9:00am–12:00pm School Holidays: 9:00am–3:00pm Our next holiday scheme will run from 26th–30th October. You can work across different sessions depending on your availability. About the Role You will support children with a wide range of additional needs to take part in activities, play, socialise and have fun in a safe and supportive environment. The role can involve supporting children with complex and challenging needs. Some children require personal care, including support with toileting and changing nappies. Some of the children we support can also become very physical when dysregulated. You will need to be confident remaining calm, following agreed support plans and working closely with the rest of the QuestLearn team. Positive handling training would be very beneficial, although it is not essential. Property and accommodation • Carry out regular checks of allocated properties, including communal, internal and external areas., • Identify and report repairs, maintenance issues, property damage and health and safety concerns., • Follow up reported repairs and liaise with the maintenance team regarding outstanding works., • Check that rubbish is managed and that fire exits, escape routes and communal areas remain clear., • Check that required property and fire safety signage is displayed., • Assist with move-in and move-out checks, including checking furniture, equipment and other property items., • Take photographs and record evidence of property issues where required., • Keep property inspection and maintenance records up to date., • Report compliance concerns promptly to management. Administration and communication • Update internal trackers and databases., • Ensure support documentation is completed accurately and within required timescales., • Monitor outstanding actions and follow them through to completion., • Communicate effectively with management, administration and other members of the support team.
