Sports Graduate – Teaching Assistant Pay: £92.63 per day Contract: Full-Time and Part-Time Opportunities Start Dates: Immediate and September starts available Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting Sports Graduates to work as Teaching Assistants within a range of supportive and inclusive schools. This is an excellent opportunity for graduates looking to gain valuable experience within education, particularly those considering careers in teaching, additional learning needs (ALN), therapy, or youth support roles. These long-term opportunities allow you to apply the transferable skills developed through sport – such as teamwork, leadership, resilience and communication – in a structured school environment supporting children and young people aged 3–19 with a range of additional learning needs. About the settings You will be working across a variety of education settings including primary, secondary and specialist provisions. These schools provide support for pupils with a range of needs including: • General classroom support needs, • Behavioural and emotional support needs, • Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), • Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD), • Severe and complex learning needs, • Physical disabilities and medical needs These environments are known for their supportive staff teams, consistent routines and child-centred approach, with a strong focus on developing communication, independence and life skills. The role As a Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities may include: • Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis or in small groups, • Using structured activities, movement and routine to engage learners, • Supporting behaviour and emotional regulation, • Assisting with personal care where required (full training provided), • Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists and ALN teams, • Building positive, consistent relationships with pupils This is a hands-on and rewarding role where patience, adaptability and a positive attitude are essential.
