    FD Mechanics Limited – Epsom / Stoneleigh, Surrey FD Mechanics is a busy, well-established, family-run independent garage and MOT station, and we are looking for an experienced Vehicle Motor Technician to join our growing team. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their workmanship, has good attention to detail and enjoys working in a professional, friendly workshop environment. The Role As a Motor Technician, you will be responsible for carrying out a wide range of servicing, repairs, maintenance and diagnostic work across a variety of makes and models. Your responsibilities will include: • Carrying out servicing and routine maintenance, • Diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical faults, • Brake, suspension, steering and exhaust repairs, • Timing belt and timing chain replacements, • Clutch and gearbox repairs, • Carrying out vehicle inspections and fault finding, • Using diagnostic equipment to identify faults, • Completing MOT-related repairs, • Ensuring all work is completed to a high standard, • Carrying out safety checks and road tests where required, • Maintaining a clean and organised working area, • Providing accurate feedback on vehicle condition and additional work required, • Working as part of a friendly and supportive workshop team About You We are looking for a technician who: • Has proven experience as a Motor Vehicle Technician, • Has strong mechanical and diagnostic skills, • Can work independently and as part of a team, • Takes pride in producing high-quality workmanship, • Has excellent attention to detail, • Is reliable, punctual and professional, • Has a positive attitude and good communication skills, • Holds a full UK driving licence, • Is able to work efficiently in a busy workshop environment MOT Licence Preferred An MOT Tester licence would be highly advantageous, although this is not essential. We would also welcome applications from experienced technicians who are looking to develop their skills and take on additional responsibilities within the workshop. The Role As a Class 2 HGV Driver / Removals Porter, you will combine professional driving responsibilities with hands-on removals and porter duties. Your responsibilities will include: • Acting as a professional and friendly point of contact for customers., • Keeping customers informed throughout the removal process., • Driving 18-tonne, 12-tonne, 7.5-tonne and 3.5-tonne vehicles between warehouses and customer locations., • Carrying out vehicle checks and ensuring vehicles are clean, fuelled, roadworthy and legally parked., • Complying with all relevant driving laws, regulations and restrictions., • Safely loading, unloading, handling and transporting customer goods., • Working efficiently as part of a removals team., • Planning moves and deliveries carefully to ensure a smooth and professional service., • Providing excellent customer service at all times., • Following company policies and procedures relating to driver, vehicle and workplace safety., • Carrying out general removals and porter duties as required. About You We are looking for someone who is experienced, reliable, professional, physically fit and customer-focused. You must have: • At least 3 years' experience in the removals industry., • At least 2 years' goods vehicle driving experience., • A valid Category C (Class 2) driving licence., • A valid Digital Tachograph Card., • A valid Driver CPC., • A clean driving licence; minor infringements may be considered., • Good spoken English and the ability to communicate effectively with customers and colleagues., • A polite, presentable and professional manner., • A positive attitude and willingness to support the wider team., • The ability to carry out physically demanding removals work safely and efficiently. Working Pattern • Full-time, permanent position., • Approximately 80% local work / 20% UK-wide work., • 6 days one week and 5 days the next, subject to legal driving and working-time requirements., • Overtime opportunities available.     We are looking for an experienced Site Engineer / Construction Manager to support and help manage an 8-flat residential development in Worcester Park. The groundworks and foundations have been completed, and the project is now moving into the next phase of works, including steelwork installation followed by block and beam flooring and superstructure works. We need someone practical and experienced who can take ownership of the site measurement, setting out, coordination and day-to-day management of this stage of the project. Key Responsibilities • Check and verify site measurements against structural and architectural drawings, • Set out and confirm positions, levels and dimensions for the steelwork, • Liaise with the structural engineer, steel fabricator, beam and block supplier, building control and contractors, • Identify and report any discrepancies between drawings and the actual site conditions, • Help coordinate and manage the next construction phase from steelwork through to floor installation and follow-on works, • Ensure works are carried out accurately, safely and in the correct sequence, • Oversee quality control on site, • Assist with programme planning and keeping the project moving, • Provide practical site-based solutions and recommendations where issues arise Requirements • Proven experience in residential construction projects, • Strong experience with setting out, site measurement and reading structural/architectural drawings, • Experience with steel frame / structural steelwork and beam and block flooring, • Ability to independently verify dimensions and levels on site, • Good communication and coordination skills, • Hands-on, proactive and commercially aware, • Own setting out equipment / access to surveying equipment is an advantage, • Ability to start quickly Ideal Candidate The ideal person will be someone who has worked on similar residential developments and is confident taking responsibility for: • checking dimensions on site, • managing the interface between the engineer, steel company and builders, • helping move the project forward without constant hand-holding
